Way overpriced at $100. No coffee, no breakfast, no ice, no AC, no staff around to fix toilet. Cool atmosphere, like staying in a friends house, but zero else. Pretty underwhelming for a place with so much potential.

we thank you for your critique it can only make us better. Things can sometimes go wrong and I apologize if we overlooked something. We do have 24 hour contact with the managers phone number affixed to the main office door. I was very surprised to hear that the breakfast which is one of the highlights of the guest's stay... More

Location and value were awesome-I reserved via hotels.com and this was available (as opposed to Telluride being packed b/c of jazz festival). I loved that pets were welcomed. The public spaces were great and my meal at the Argentine grill was fantastic. Breakfast was a feast-delicious frittata and other treats. My only complaint was the room smelled musty and old-the... In a small mountain town you don't have many choices for a hotel stay. The historic hotel in Rico is aged and shows it, which is what makes it so splendid. The owners have updated the rooms, but as is the case with most older buildings, you can only slap on so much lipstick. But who cares as the older... More

Through the years I have been going to the Argintine grill for an escape and good food. This past labor day weekend I was sadly disappointed. Our chicken breading was burned and my salmon was swimming in balsamic sauce that killed any flavor the dish might have had. Our wine was served in inferior glasses which for me takes away... More

I've been making an annual pilgrimage from Texas to Rico for many years, first on backpacking trips and now that I am aged, staying in the Rico Hotel. Yes, it's the only hotel in town and it is historic and rustic but it is clean and comfortable. Some of the rooms are smaller than others but the rates are cheap.... More

Like a quaint bed and breakfast. Comfy rooms. Manager also an amazing chef for the restaurant next door, Argintine Grill. The included breakfast was glorious! We really enjoyed ourselves and wished we could stay longer.

The third floor Kinnick Suite is spacious, bedroom, living room, full kitchen, bathroom and many closets. The food is excellent! Chef prepared dinners, 4-6pm were only $15. We wanted to try the homemade ice cream but the restaurant was too busy for the one and only server/bartender to get back to our table. Complimentary breakfast consisted of a variety of... More

The restaurant is amazing! If you stay here, eating dinner at The Argentine Grill is an absolute must. The filet is to die for.... The rooms are small, but they are cozy and clean, and the sign on the back of the hotel says it was established as a miners bunkhouse in 1925, which adds to the rustic mountain experience.... More

The location is great but do not get a room downstairs. The hotel is very old and the floors creak real loud when people are walking. I asked to be moved to a quieter room and he wanted to charge me more to be moved upstairs. The room was hot June 30th so we had to open the windows, no... More

We did not book ahead but noticed the hotel as we drove through town. The hotel was not full and we did not have that tiny room others mention. We had no problems with noise, though we thought we might, it being an older building. Our room was very nicely decorated and clean. The restaurant was outstanding, as good as... More
