Called at 8 from Buena Vista and asked for a room. No problem the guy working the desk said. We showed up 40 minuted later and he had the key waiting for us when we came in. Cheap but with funky retro rooms that were exceptionally clean for an old motel. The motel is very well located and makes a... more

I stayed at the Lodge for a week and I must say that it felt like my second home. They are so friendly and if you have any need it is taken care of right away. For those of you going to Vail or one of the other big resort towns in Colorado, you'll be missing out on a whole... more

After booking 3 rooms with the owner, Brian, the next day he cancelled all of our reservations because my husband told him he sounded young over the telephone! He somehow took offense to that statement. He gave us no notice and there were no more availabilities in the area. I wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone. He is underhanded,... more

Quiet, comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Close to restaurants, hot springs, ski area and rafting. Reasonably priced. Will be back. more

My husband and I have season passes at Monarch Mountain, and we visit Salida several times throughout the summer months with our dog. We always stay at the Poncha Lodge in Poncha Springs, CO. We have visited almost every hotel in the Salida and the Poncha Springs area. For the price, you get a great, cozy, very clean room. It... more

Dishonest management. After making reservations, they raised the price after we checked in (twice). They lock the office all day, they don't want to put anything in writing. Then, when you check out early they charge you for the day after you left (at the higher price). We had to file a dispute with the bank. What a nightmare! The... more

We own and manage the cleanest and friendliest motel around. Our rates are clearly listed at our website and we will always let you know upon reservation the rate including tax per night. The rate has never changed after a reservation has been made. We are very proud of the amount of return customers that have helped our business grow....

On a biker trip we stopped in without booking and got nice rooms. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but fit the area well. You can hear noise from outside but nothing you can do about that. A good place to lay your head. more

We just spent a long weekend around the Salida CO area, and stayed at the Poncha Lodge, just outside of Salida. The owners were friendly and accomodating, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Not big or fancy but very pleasant, for quite a reasonable price (especially compared with some of the more expensive chain motels down the road... more

We made a reservation by telephone for a large, quiet room with wireless service. We got a small room with intermittent wireless service and no air conditioning. At 9:30 PM, a small beer party (maybe eight people) got started in the parking lot in front of our room. Due to the lack of AC, we did not want to close... more

While on a quick getaway to enjoy the last of the amazing 2007/ 2008 ski season at Monarch, our family stayed at the Poncha Lodge. We are a family of 4, including a 5 year-old and a dog. The room was very clean and comfortable, and offered added encouragent to conserve the at-risk resources of Colorado. The motel's pleasant hosts... more
