We spent one night in the main lodge recently, and I have to say that I was disappointed. The room was dated and it felt like it needed a good cleaning...especially the walls and dusty baseboards. The bed and sheet were clean, so that was good. We could hear everything said by the people in the adjoining room. Luckily, we... More

The hotel was very clean, staff was great. Asked for ideas of things to do in the area..they helped us. Liked the breakfast room, good breakfast! Three hot tubs which were great as well. Hummingbird feeders were cool.

Great hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. We could hear that all day long, and never get tired of it. We enjoyed your review-short and to the point, but it says a lot about HCL and our goal of ensuring our guests time here is as pleasant and memorable as possible. We enjoyed hosting you, and hope you will return often.... More

Again we made our reservations sight unseen and we were very pleasantly surprised. AA had given this lodging, including motel rooms and cabins a 2 star rating. I have traveled to all 50 states and stayed in a variety of motels and hotels; for cleanliness, sleep ability, comfort, value, and the quality of the complimentary breakfast, it deserves a much... Give this lodge highest review! Loved so much stayed there our whole vacation! Beautiful location, great rooms, amazing cabins. Very friendly and accommodating. Gorgeous flowers, lots of hummingbirds. Gas grills, fire pits, hot tubs, lots of outside toys and equipment. Free DVDs and games. Very helpful with ideas and directions. Beautifully maintained. Loved it! Highest recommendation. Best place to stay... More

We love to see our guests really enjoy and take advantage of all HCL has to offer. It might be just sitting and watching the hummingbirds or enjoying the mountain views, or a family playing frisbee or horseshoes with their kids, or in the winter, having fun on the snow tubing hill, But whatever you call fun, if it's not... This older hotel has that nice "Log Cabin" look and feel to it. Dark brown log facing, forest green trim, and baskets of flowers hanging along the railings make this property seem like you are way off in the mountains. My upstairs room was very nice and clean with pretty squeaky flooring under the carpet. Hope the people under me... More

We love that "cabin/way off in the mountains feeling" too. But the nice thing is we are only 2 miles out of town, and only 5 minutes from restaurants and the hot springs! That way, our guests get the best of both worlds-country atmosphere and mountain views, while knowing they can be soaking in the hot springs or at their... More

If I were to tell you this place is awful... I'd be lying. Selfishly lying, because I am so in love with this place and I don't want the secret to get out! My family came to Pagosa Springs every summer when I was a child, and we made beautiful memories. Now that I have a family of my own... More

Nice breakfast even for gluten and lactose intolerant person. Sauna just like we have it in Finland. Also three hit tubs. Clean rooms and extra towels for the bathing area. Good location and lots of activities to do.

It's good to hear from you-thank you for writing and letting us know you enjoyed your stay. Many people from Finland have enjoyed our sauna-some have even extended their stays because it reminded them of home! Thank you for lodging with us! We hope to welcome you back on your next trip to this area. More

Two nights in cabin #404 set at the back of the property. Almost no noise from the highway and nobody in front of us to hide the mountains. The cabin had 2 comfortable queen beds, a small equipped kitchen with a table and chairs, a fireplace, a small bathroom, nice linens and towels, cute decoration and a private porch with... More

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in cabin 404. Cabins 402, 403, and 404 are really cozy and perfect for couples and small families, or even a single person. But with ten cabins to choose from, one is sure to be right for each situation and family. Your well thought out review will help other travelers as they... More

We stayed one night in this beautiful location and quickly realized we had screwed up by not spending more of our time here. First of all, my husband came out of the office post check-in with a huge grin on his face. I asked him what was so funny and he said, "Nothing funny, I was just having a lovely... More

We had an extra day and elected to stay near PS. Called the High Country Lodge on a whim for one night stay in the high season of the summer without much a plan.
