This place was VERY clean. I'm in charming Ouray, CO , the Switzerland of America. I understand this was a historic home.... I'm not sure where it's hiding, but I couldn't find it. From that standpoint, it was very disappointing. Vinyl siding, printed quilt pattern quilts, little framed sayings, and cute pictures on the walls, big sugary breakfast. Yummy... But... More

While camping our way through the San Juan mountains in southwest Colorado, we wanted to treat ourselves to a relaxing few days in Ouray. I found the Spangler House online, read a few reviews, and booked the Cascade room for two nights. I was quite surprised by how large the home was upon arrival. We were greeted by Steve, shown... We enjoyed the Spangler House very much. It was clean and tastefully appointed. The owners were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding and "free" drinks and snacks were available at any time. We had some very loud fellow patrons who came in quite late and were noisy until the wee hours. We mentioned this to Jill and Steve and they... More

My husband and I traveled to Ouray, CO last week to drive the many Jeep trails and I booked us a weeks' stay at Spangler House B&B. This was our first stay here and it turned out to be an excellent choice! Steve and Jill run a wonderful place; clean, comfortable & within walking distance to the main street for... More

This was our fourth stay. Only spent one night this time, passing through on another Colorado adventure. Again everything was very nice. Jill and Steve continue to do a good job. The place is spotless. We stayed in the Oak Creek room as usual. Bed is comfortable and the room has everything you need except maybe a luggage rack. Seemed... More

My wife and I stayed at the Spangler House for 4 nights this Spring. The location is just off US 550 so the Inn is convenient to everything Ouray has to offer but without any traffic noise. The Inn itself is clean, well maintained and very cozy. We were surrounded by mountain views and the hot tub on the back... More

My daughter and I were passing through from a trip skiing at Crested Butte. The last time we were in the area she was 3 years old and here we were 15 years later. Steve made us feel right at home. Jill was so welcoming on the phone before arrival. So nice to talk to a person. The room was... More

The Spangler House is a historic home converted into a bed and breakfast and is run by Steve and Jill. They are wonderful hosts and Steve goes out of his way to ensure that the guests are happy. They are very good at talking if you wish and leaving you alone when you want quiet. Steve makes very fancy breakfasts... More

My husband and I stayed here on Oct. 31-Nov. 2 and had a wonderful time! Steve was very friendly and made the most delicious breakfasts. He was very knowledgeable about the town and helped us find our way. He always had hot tea and snacks set out for the guests which made it feel very homey. The hot tub was... More

Steve was nice and welcoming but his wife is not friendly at all (she is not even presenting herself). Might be ok to just stay one night. Beds are very hard and you can not change from one room to and other one. Our room was very small. There is no flexibility at all. You cannot use the kitchen to... More
