Beware. management is not customer friendly. Driving from 4 hours and having stayed here streamside for years, we Tried to make a reservation next to our camping buddies 4 months ago. We were told that they save spaces for larger groups(5). Guaranteed reservations do not exist here. We are staying at KOA.....great campground!

My husband and I brought our 21 ft travel trailer to this campground over the weekend. We were pleased with our spot next to the river. I have only one complaint about the campground - there was a streetlight in the middle of the travel trailer parking lot that shown into our trailer at night but the helpfulness and friendliness... We went there in late August before school and had a great time. It is busy on the weekends at that time, but the week days offer a lot of space and privacy. On the busier nights, it was still quiet and the campground is kept very clean. We stayed in a tent site on the lower area. It was... More

The place advertised free wifi but it is awful! We could not get a steady signal. The office personnel state that there is no streaming allowed and is very basic. It has very low bandwidth. I dare you to even try to check your email with their wifi. Don't advertise you have wifi if no one can use it. It... More

We ended up staying here when the NFS campgrounds on Chalk Creek were booked and we didn't know where other park sites were. As privately run campgrounds go: I would say this one is average? The tent sites are maybe 10x25 with parking for 1 1/2 vehicles. A picnic table and a fire ring. Running water and a wash station... More

Great place to base camp our vacation. A short trip to both Salida & Buena Vista. Operators are very informative and friendly. Not a large campground, great showers but cost 50 cent for 3 minutes. A small campground and we found it to be very quiet as well but we were up on the hill and not down by the... More

Any time we're in Buena Vista, CO we try to stay at Chalk Creek Campground. The facilities here are nice and clean, the surroundings are pretty, especially near the creek that runs alongside the property, the people are so friendly, and they basically have everything we could need here. Even though it's a few minutes outside of town, it's worth... More

This was a great campground for our recent 2-night stay. They do charge for their showers, which was annoying, and the spaces along the creek were too short to accommodate us without disconnecting our car trailer, but it was worth it to be able to sit literally on our picnic table's bench and cast a line into Chalk Creek. My... More

This is a very clean and well maintained campground that is children friendly. With that said, BEWARE, one reason it is so well maintained is because they must be making money hand over fist. SHOWERS COST $.50 for each 3 mins!!!!!!!!! Coffee is available for $2.00 per Keurig cup!!!!! This is AFTER your camping fee ($25 for tents which is... More

My family and I have been coming to this campground for over 15 years. We come out every other year or so to visit family in Denver, raft the Arkansas and camp. I recommend this property to everyone I know that is headed to this area. The people are wonderful, the property is gorgeous and with the updgrade on the... More
