This is a hard review to write. Hmmm...where should I start? Well, when you first roll in, it kind of reminds you of a hippy commune...or summer camp...or a refugee center. But in a charming way. I can honestly say, I've never stayed in a place like this. There were dead trees with all their limbs cut off, still standing,... More

We stayed for three nights, July 24, 25 and 26, 2014. You stay at this place for one of two reasons: 1) You want to be close to the Red Rocks Amphitheater or, 2) You want public accommodations that are friendly to your relaxation with recently passed Colorado legislation. We spent the first two nights in the Dino Den (Note:... More

We chose Cliff House because of the proximity to Red Rocks. Which is fabulous. As a hotel/B&B it is a mixed bag. Service was mostly good, clean room, gave us a flashlight to get back from RR at night and coffee cups to take out coffee in the early morning for our flight. Hot tub very nice. But Sunday morning... You do not find places like this by staying in chain places. This turned out to be one of my top five places to stay...ever! If you ever travel to Denver, then you know they can run out of rooms very quickly. Seriously, I have tried to find a place and the entire city will be sold out except for... More

We recently stayed at the Cliff House (Rose Retreat) for one night to attend a concert at Red Rocks. It has a very cool, funky & fun environment so if you are looking for a safe formulated chain type of accommodation this is not the place. If you want a unique experience that is ideal for its proximity to Red... More

I have vacationed here on 2 different occasions and getting ready to book my 3rd stay. This place is tucked in right next to Dinosaur Ridge in the town of Morrison, Colorado. I have sat in the hot tub blowing smoke and pretty sure I seen a deer fighting a house cat on this mountain...lol...Weather it was the awesome herbs... More

The cottages are amazingly different. Private, sexy hot tubs, friendly staff, beautiful scenery, and very 420 friendly. The owner Angela is terrific, educated, and ambitious. We were lucky enough to spend some time with the owner, her husband, and Kent, they treated us like life long friends. Kent, one of the employees, took us on the coolest guided tour of... More

For the money, would expect to have the patio and walkways to be barefoot ready. We cleaned the outdoor furniture and patios before our birthday friends arrived. What a Shame. Love the laid back atmosphere, although we are on vacation and paying a lot, so expect a superb expereince. Heater was off!! Froze big time! Re think what's important to... More

We stayed in the Dino Den this past weekend and it was one of the worst hotel experiences in my life. It was so bad my boyfriend and I left at 3 am because we couldn't stand another sleepless night in such a hole! Here's a list of all the things that made our stay there terrible: disgusting, gross furniture... More

Cliff House Lodge is not your typical Bed and Breakfast and hurrah for that! Or since we stayed in the Camelot Cottage - we should say "Huzzah"! The location is excellent, only a few minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater. Lots of wonderful bars and restaurants down the street. And a variety of people in them - all very friendly to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cliff House was taken over by a new management team at the end of July 2012. New Innkeepers, Angela Dowdy-Bernhardt and Daniel Bernhardt, have moved in to the Main House and have brought with them their love for both the Cliff House and those that visit it. Their outgoing nature and attention to guests are just two traits that will help insure a fabulous stay. Angela and Daniel always strive to provide a clean, warm and welcoming environment, perpetually seeking feedback as to how they may provide the best stay possible. Come see all the positive change that has taken place and help us continue to improve! The Cliff House Lodge is a popular boutique bed and breakfast located in Morrison, Colorado. Nestled in a peaceful and serene gated enclave featuring natural and manicured gardens, it's within walking distance of many of the best attractions and restaurants the town has to offer as well as driving distance to nearby ski areas. The 8 private and themed cottages surround the mansion on the property. Each non-smoking cottage tastefully combines the charm of the past with modern amenities, including indoor Jacuzzis or private outdoor hot tubs. Mornings at the Cliff House start with a tempting gourmet breakfast delivered right to your cottage door. The menu varies, but it’s always a delicious beginning to your day. For guests arriving Friday or Saturday, your visit begins with a bottle of champagne chilled and waiting in your cottage for you.
