The innkeepers are helpful and the family suite rooms are great for families on long trips. We had two rooms each with a queen bed and separated by a bathroom. The room had a microwave and fridge. Strangely, the booking said the room had a jet tub. This is not the sort of hotel where rooms have jet tubs. We... More

I couldn't believe the orices on motels in this little town. I was glad to stumble acroas the Black Canyon on Tripadvisor.Took a chance and wasn't disappointed at all. As a matter of fact we ended up staying here an extra night because we appreciated the price and enjoyed our stay so much. It's a standard room. Ours bad two... More

We visited the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park for a couple of days and stayed at the Black Canyon Motel. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a table and chairs at which to eat and/or plan your canyon exploration. The room has a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee maker, so if you feel like a... More

We spent a night in a King room. It was clean and the service was excellent. I was suppled with a cork screw when I requested it. Breakfast was good, not amazing. Some whole wheat items would be good. Was pleased with the experience, would return again. The owner recommended the Red Barn resturant it is a local favorite and... More

Stayed there 3 nights. We had a two queen bedroom that was spacious (#206). It was clean and comfortable. Our friends were also in a room with two queens but it was much smaller. I think most were their size so ask for room 206. Deluxe continental breakfast was a typical continental with fresh fruit (peaches, bananas) and a waffle... More

I traveled to Montrose a couple times a year and decided to give this place a try based on the reviews and the price. The rooms have keys, not swipe cards, the furnishings in my room were dated and cheap but the bed was very comfortable, everything worked and the room was super clean, I mean super duper clean. I... Stayed one night here, no complaints, large comfortable bed, clean room and good breakfast. Not too far out of the town centre so were able to walk in and enjoy the local pubs. Would recommend if you need a stop over while travelling.

We had a nice stay here. Very convenient to Black Canyon NP. Clean room. Best blueberry muffins ever for breakfast.

We based this stay on TripAdvisor recommendation, looking for higher rankings, but lower prices and preferring to stay away from chain motels. This fit the bill and met our needs. We spent a little extra for the three queens room and made a good choice as their were two beds in a back room for our kids and one in... More
