We stayed in the main house with Maurice the cat and Oreo the dog.The house and room were clean and inviting. Bob and Sue were more than Gracious hosts. Being fellow innkeepers and Louis L'Amour fans gave us much to chat about. Our breakfast was very good, and the company even better. They made our first trip to Colorado a... More

Sundance Bear Lodge has a few rooms in the main house and two very close houses that are good for families. The public space in the main house is filled with light and with artifacts, art, pottery, etc. from the area. The best part, however, is that Bob and Sue do a first-rate job of running the inn and making... More

The owner's of this delightful property have gone out of their way to provide a pleasurable experience for their guests. We stayed in the cabin near the main house and watched the moon rise over the splendid landscape from the front porch. This was a romantic anniversary celebration and exceeded our expectations. We hope to return with our family and... More

Absolutely lovely accomodations, so welcoming and homey--and sparkling clean. Hosts ever so pleasant and supportive; they showed a genuine interest in us as individuals, offered benefit of their experience and helpful information about surrounding opportunities for meals, adventure, and learning opportunities. Bob and Sue demonstrated complete understanding of what a B&B can and should be--in setting (including grounds), furnishings, amenities,... More

Beautiful accommodations with a treasure trove of western art surrounding you. Knowledgeable hosts sit with you at breakfast and help you get to know the local area, and when it's time to leave, you don't want to go. Sundance Bear is just 10 miles from the entrance to Mesa Verde, it's close to some good restaurants, and staying there is... More

Thanks so much for the kind words. Things change quickly, however. Chester, our 16 yr old aussie shepherd, died this week. He has been a wonderful ambassador and passes that mantel to Oreo, the border collie. Many children learned to like doggies after a few minutes with Chester! More

Sundance Bear Lodge is definitely worth stopping at if you're in the Mesa Verde area. 4 legged hosts Morris, JD, Oreo and Chester, and their 2 legged slaves Sue and Bob made the stay an enjoyable one. We got in exceptionally late on our first night, and Bob, Oreo and Morris made sure that we were well looked after on... More

Ah yes...anyone who has pets know they are slaves to the animals! We have 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 horses. The dogs are our doorbells. Morris is the guest greeter. Bob and I keep everyone well fed! When folks left pets at home, they really enjoy loving our group of animals. More

My friend and I searched for a weekend-type getaway and found a treasure!! Easy access, reasonable prices and super comfortable and cozy. The owners/chefs (Sue and Bob) created breakfast masterpieces!. Their use of local produce along with tried and true recipes, made for a culinary feast. We will make this place a destination in the future!

It was a delight to have you gals stay with us, and we hope to see you again. Hopefully you are high and dry in Erie; I have never seen such flooding on the front range in the 16 yrs we have lived in CO. It is raining some more in the 4 Corners but I don't think the rain... More

Sundance Bear Lodge was really excellent Bob and Sue were great hosts and willing to chat or leave you alone, we only spent one night there but would certainly stay there again if the opportunity arises. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast plentiful with good choices. Highly recommended.

My wife, her friend, and I were fortunate enough to spend a night in the Mesa Verde room at the Sundance Bear Lodge whilst travelling through Southwest Colorado. Everything about our four night stay in late May at Sundance Bear was perfect. The owners' stunning collection of native art was worth the trip, or we would have come just for the breakfasts! (plentiful, delicious, home-made, and beautifully presented.) Having snacks available on the counter that we could have at any time was a gracious touch too. The room... More
