My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing and comfortable spring-break retreat in the main lodge. Views of Mesa Verde from the grounds are spectacular. The cozy atmosphere and yummy meals created by our hosts made our stay spectacular! We will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for six nights in the cute and rustic log cabin. I absolutely loved it, and felt like a character from "Little House on the Prairie". I really enjoyed cooking in the quaint kitchen, but with the lofted ceiling, it still felt roomy and comfortable - especially with the gas fireplace lit. The three balconies were... More

We recently toured the western USA from the UK and stayed mostly at B&Bs as it provides a more social experience than hotels. There is always a risk that you may not like a place or the people but we were lucky and all were pretty good. One of the very best was Sundance Bear Lodge and this was due... More

Privacy and fresh air on 85 acres! We arrived at 5 pm and departed the next morning at 6 am. Yet still had time to hike around the property with our dog before going into Mancos for dinner. Two bedroom cabin w full kitchen two porches and two baths spotless and comfortable. We especially appreciated Bob and Sue providing breakfast... More

Since there is a new dog in our family, we try to be sensitive to what someone traveling with a dog would need. And we know that no everyone is comfortable as a B&B guest. That's why our 2 cabins provide the self cater atmosphere. Sundance Bear provides a little for every traveler! Sue & Bob More

The location is hard to find. Do not rely on your GPS that will most surely send you to the other end of Mancos. At the traffic light of Mancos, take the direction of Dolores. After about 4 miles, in a slight left curve, you will see (at least for now) a "ying-yang" sign on the right; the entrance to... More

You are so correct!! GPS will not get you here! County Road 39 hopscotches across the county and none of the pieces connect. We are at the corner of CR 39 and Hwy 184. We have 2 rooms in t he lodge, and Mancos is smaller than Mesa verde. The difference in price reflects the difference in size. But everyone... More

Arrived exhausted after a photo workshop in the Badlands. The owner, Ken, was extremely helpful about mapping out my excursions and pointed me to an excellent restaurant across the street (Long Horn, I think). Best food I had while in WY and SD. Everything was clean, it was quiet, and I was able to catch up on sleep. The hotel... More

We were so pleased to find this unique B&B a few miles outside of Mancos, CO. We were able to enjoy the solitude, the views and the wonderful hospitality and breakfasts provided by Bob and Sue as we traveled to Mesa Verde and Durango. We opted to stay in main lodge; there are two rooms with private baths. Since the... More

On a road trip to explore National Parks we found a wonderful treasure at Sundance Bear B&B. We stayed in the Mesa Verde Room but had the run of the living room too. Bob and Sue are wonderful hosts. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet after enjoying Mesa Verde National Park. Bob and Sue servered wonderful... More

English couple; We stayed at the lodge in 2014. Great place to stay in the Mesa Verde area. We were very much made to feel at home; indeed Sue and Bob made us feel it was also "our place". Super breakfasts, morning coffee, afternoon and late evening tea AND conversation. (Enjoyable NFL and College football chats and the business discussion).... More

Fall is a wonderful time of year in the 4 Corners. The weather is some of the best of the year! Business has slowed down just a bit, so we have more time to relax and really enjoy our guests. Sue enjoys football, and by October there is a sense of how the college season is progressing and what the... More

We stayed at this beautiful lodge over Thanksgiving. We not only learned a lot about the Pueblo culture by the hikes we did in the area, but also by the valuable insights given by the lodge owners. You can't miss the breakfast given at the lodge! What a delicious and nutritious way to start your day,:)

We do enjoy having guests during the holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. My mother used to take our family "on the road" for the holidays, so we know that it is a great way to celebrate. So it's fun to pay it forward! Thanks for the kind words. Mesa Verde is open all year; the Anasazi story is a... More
