What a find!!! The Sundance Bear Lodge is wonderful! On a recent trip to Mesa Verde and the vicinity, we happened to luck out and find this wonderful location! The Sundance Bear Lodge is hospitable and charming with lovely furnishings and amazing views of the awe-inspiring mountains and landscaping. This Lodge is at the top of our list of Colorado... More

Bob and Sue were great hosts. They accommodated us graciously with our late arrival the first night, after a long drive from Denver. We were in the area to ride on the Durango-Silverton train. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic! There was great variety in the food, well prepared and so very tasty. Bob and Sue are well versed on the... More

Oreo, Morris and JD love our guests and welcome humans into their territory. But they also take rejection pretty well when guests have allergies or simply preferences. The Durango-Silverton train is one of the major attractions in the 4 Corners. Train/jeep ride, train/ bus are alternate combinations for a 2way train ride. We serve breakfast between 7:30-9a.m. so there are... More

Pleasant stay- great hospitality and breakfast by Bob and Sue. We stayed in on-site cabin which was super cute, cozy yet spacious, and clean. Our young boys loved exploring the grounds and pond, and playing with the dog Oreo. Wish we could've stayed longer.

Great facility, we rented the cabin and it was perfect. The host was very accommodating with my schedule. We really enjoyed the piece and quite. Close enough to town, fully equipped kitchen. Plan on coming back and renting the cabin for a month and ride our horses in the area. Thanks again for all the hospitality.

Not many folks bring their horses, but they should! The horses rest and relax in the 60 ft corrals with shade and water. There are miles of national forest to ride in. We look forward to your return! More

We had the pleasure of staying in the Log Cabin for three nights, early June. The location is great for visiting Mesa Verde. The cabin had everything we hoped for plus more. All the essentials were available plus non-perishables from previous guests. The beds were comfortable and although cozy, was a wonderful place to spend time. The guests and Oreo... More

My husband and I stayed at the Sundance Bear Lodge May 19th through the 21st. We were fortunate enough to stay in the private cabin. What a wonderful experience this was. The cabin is rustic yet warm, comfortable, clean and very, very tranquil. The view of the snow capped mountains off of the back porch was just beautiful. It was... More

Thanks for the kind words! The log cabin has a B&B option; you can do your own breakfast if you prefer. But we enjoy having from 2 - 8 guests for breakfast in the lodge great room where local info is easy to share. Guests who experienced Mea Verde the day before can advise those who are going to the... What a wonderful find for us as we made our recent visit to Mancos, CO. Set away from the noise of a city on a mountain rise above green pasture is a lodge by name but a home by all characteristics. Bob and Sue are perfect hosts, preparing great breakfasts, offering travel suggestions, making dinner reservations if needed and wonderful... More

Whether you live a few hours away or come from another part of the world you will find a little piece of heaven in the mountains of SW Colorado. Your human hosts Bob and Sue are great but their cats, Morris and JD, will really make you feel at home. Another animal host Oreo, a canine of uncertain parentage, will... More

Morris, JD and Oreo run our lives and love our guests! What would we do without them? The main lodge started out as a vacation home for the previous owner, and we think he did a pretty good job on the building. We've enhanced what we could -- but not all is possible. More

Sue and Bob are truly delightful hosts filled with local information and the ability to make you feel at home. The lodge is beautifully appointed with amazing art and southwestern flair. We stayed in the main house with Maurice the cat and Oreo the dog.The house and room were clean and inviting. Bob and Sue were more than Gracious hosts.
