English couple; We stayed at the lodge in 2014. Great place to stay in the Mesa Verde area. We were very much made to feel at home; indeed Sue and Bob made us feel it was also "our place". Super breakfasts, morning coffee, afternoon and late evening tea AND conversation. (Enjoyable NFL and College football chats and the business discussion).... More

Fall is a wonderful time of year in the 4 Corners. The weather is some of the best of the year! Business has slowed down just a bit, so we have more time to relax and really enjoy our guests. Sue enjoys football, and by October there is a sense of how the college season is progressing and what the... More

We stayed at this beautiful lodge over Thanksgiving. We not only learned a lot about the Pueblo culture by the hikes we did in the area, but also by the valuable insights given by the lodge owners. You can't miss the breakfast given at the lodge! What a delicious and nutritious way to start your day,:)

We do enjoy having guests during the holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. My mother used to take our family "on the road" for the holidays, so we know that it is a great way to celebrate. So it's fun to pay it forward! Thanks for the kind words. Mesa Verde is open all year; the Anasazi story is a... More

We stayed at Sundance Bear on November 13th. Very well kept, the hosts, Sue & Bob, are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant they recommended and booked for us in Mancos was first class. The Lodge is quiet on the outskirts of toown but as town isn't large the dostance isn't great. We were stopping on the way from Mesa... More

Thanks for the kind words! Mancos is a village of about 1100 folks and we are a short 4 mi. out of town -- not far at all. Our guests are always surprised to discover Olio for dinner in Mancos! The major attraction near-by is Mesa Verde Nat'l Park, which is open all year. More

We stayed one night along with my wife's brother and sister-in-law in the Log Cabin. Warm, cozy, and comfortable. Watched the storm clouds over the Hermosa Mountains from the deck and enjoyed the fall colors of the aspens near the pond outside. Sue and Bob are wonderful hosts and make you feel welcome. The property sits on 80 acres tucked among... More

We stayed at the Sundance Bear Lodge because we were going to the Mesa Verde National Park Luminarias, a must see luminaria lighting of the Spruce Tree House and the surrounding roads and CCC built museum. Sue and Bob Scott were our gracious hosts and our room looked out onto the Mesa Verde. Our king sized bed came with an... More

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Sundance Bear Lodge in September 2014. We were in the area to visit Mesa Verde National Park. It turned out that the experience at Sundance Bear was one of the highlights of a great western vacation. Bob and Sue are wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home. The Lodge,... More

Everything they show and say in their website is absolutely true. The location is a very short distance from Mesa Verde National Park, the room was clean and very well appointed, the breakfasts were outstanding, and Bob & Sue Scott are excellent hosts. Who could ask for more. But there is more. My wife is gluten free and Sue &... More

Bob and Sue were great hosts. They accommodated us graciously with our late arrival the first night, after a long drive from Denver. We were in the area to ride on the Durango-Silverton train. Oreo, Morris and JD love our guests and welcome humans into their territory. But they also take rejection pretty well when guests have allergies or simply preferences. The Durango-Silverton train is one of the major attractions in the 4 Corners. Train/jeep ride, train/ bus are alternate combinations for a 2way train ride. We serve breakfast between 7:30-9a.m. so there are... More
