Estes Park, Monday in July. No festival, no event. Stunning setting, of course. Streets like parking lots. Parking lots to trails overfilled; shuttle bus service to trail heads. Arrived to lodgings booked months in advance. .......Musty. Smelly. Disappointing. Now, 5 hours we search, and view equally worn and unkept rooms found on the computer. Grand Lake beseiged by beetles, no longer picturesque, with miles of road repair on Trail Ridge before, is also booked.

Hmmmmm.....Loveland is nearby....a previous tripadvisor enjoyed it. And thus, we were led to a HIGHLIGHT of our 10 day Colorado journey......The Wild Lane Bed and Breakfast. Yes, Stephen told us, we do have a room. Come on over, you will enjoy the canyon drive.

From Estes Park, we travel the amazing Big Thompson Canyon. Just as we leave the canyon, we turn off as directed for about 2 miles to the entryway. It is impressive. Up the tree sentried lane, around the bend, by the the flower laden picnic meadow... more
