I'm not going to lie, if you like old 1800s dirty looking places, you should have no issue staying here. My wife and I stayed here for the 50 mile leadville run and I had the worst experience. No elevator, what's with the sink being by the bed? Our floor was uneven, when we lay on the bed it felt... More

We stayed three nights at the Delaware when my husband participated in the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race. We loved it! First and foremost, it is right in the center of town and we only had to park once (reserved lot), which was really convenient. One block from the start/finish, and we walked to everything - meetings, expo, meals, etc.... More

We stay at the Delaware Hotel when we come up to Leadville for Boom Days. It's location makes it perfect for us, since we can park the car and leave it there our entire stay, as everything we need is within walking distance. The Delaware is a wonderful, old historic hotel. You will feel like you have been transported back... More

This hotel is over 10,000 feet above sea level. Grand old fashioned early western building with ground floor used as an antique shop. Our room was on first floor but no lift just an exceedingly steep flight of stairs. All the corridors have large items of "antique" furniture on display making passage ways very dark. Our room was not very... More

We did not want to leave! This hotel is in the perfect Leadville location. Even though it is in the middle of town, it was very quiet at night. We had wonderful mountain views from our room. The room was quaint and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly and went overboard to make us happy. The breakfast was... More

Started off our hut to hut trip at the Delaware. The room was spacious, much bigger than we expected, which was great as we needed to access our backpacks. Breakfast was unexpected and nice. Staff was great and accommodating at every turn. Transportation to the trail head left us stranded, but Bob saved the day! Bob, hotel restoration/facility manager, drove... More

Imagine looking at a photograph of a town or city of the 1800's and being able walk right into that photograph and feel for a moment what that might be like. The town of Leadville is just such a town. A time capsule of a town 10,000 feet high in the Colorado Rockies with an annual 100 mile trail run.... More

We enjoyed this hotel for its step back into the late 19th century. Our visit to Leadville was to get exposure to its colorful history. Our rating is based upon the Delaware’s absolute condition and service and not in comparison with 21st century hotels. Our stay began with a friendly reception. The hotel and its rooms are full of antique... More

Wasn't quite sure what to expect, because I know Leadville to be a very authentic, unpretentious town. First, the hotel is in great condition, and is clean. No guest rooms are on the first floor, there are no elevators, and the parking is across the street in a gravel lot. There is no air conditioning, because Leadville doesn't have air... More

The Delaware has been in business for more than 100 years and shows it, in a good way. Hallways are wide and the rooms comfortable. The lobby is huge and full of historic memorabilia. I love this sort of thing. And it is right in the middle of town, within walking distance of many restaurants. The free continental breakfast is... More

Thank you for your comments. Our goal is to create a living history inn with antiques, art, collectibles and museum-quality exhibits throughout the building. It's our version of "Night at the Museum." We are certainly not your average roadside motor lodging. But, we strive to blend Victoriana with current times through ever-changing displays and ongoing room & building enhancements. More
