The Delaware has been in business for more than 100 years and shows it, in a good way. Hallways are wide and the rooms comfortable. The lobby is huge and full of historic memorabilia. I love this sort of thing. And it is right in the middle of town, within walking distance of many restaurants. The free continental breakfast is... More

Thank you for your comments. Our goal is to create a living history inn with antiques, art, collectibles and museum-quality exhibits throughout the building. It's our version of "Night at the Museum." We are certainly not your average roadside motor lodging. But, we strive to blend Victoriana with current times through ever-changing displays and ongoing room & building enhancements. More

Fantastic location, and historically quite intact, the Delaware gets my top grades for atmosphere. Every corner of this hotel is packed with antique furniture and decor and every room is uniquely furnished. Our beds (we stayed in a suite) were all very comfortable, the plumbing very sound, with good hot and cold water. It's also a fairly well sound-proofed place,... More

On a whim looking for something different we checked in at the Delaware with no reservations while motorcycling around Colorado. The room was about $100 an we expected it to be twice that. It is an old historic and I mean historic hotel. The entire lobby area as well as the rest of the hotel is stuffed full of period... More

And a historic, pleasantly restored joint. Rooms tidy, smallish, decent. Last time we stayed, had a large amusingly decorated room. Thought we'd booked the same. Nope. But an OK night. At 10000k altitude, a bit huffy. Boy got bags to floor 3, ooof. Recommend floor 2. Restaurant closed. Bkfst basic at best in rather grim room. But the place to... More

This hotel has the steepest stairs in the world! LOL. At 12,000 feet, be ready to pant! However, the decor and antiques make it all worth it. It really feels like you are in the 1800s. Complimentary continental breakfast was above average. The staff were dressed in time period apparel, but not overly friendly.

Step back in time when you walk thru the doors of this lovely old hotel. We booked a suite ( the Baby Doe ) and loved it. It is actually 2 large connecting rooms. We looked at other rooms and thought all were charming and each unique. Our windows opened and we had a frig. Not all rooms have this,... More

Definitely a step back in time. A lot history here. But small room, very tight bathroom & toilet space with the door against you, hard bed, & my iPhone is bigger than the TV. But it's a historic place and glad I checked it out. Luckily their was a fan in the room, no a/c and the room was warm.... More

We stayed in the Deluxe King room for 2 nights. This is a very old and historic hotel that is crammed full of antiques. Interesting place. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. We stayed on the second floor. Be aware that there are no elevators in this hotel and the stairs are long and steep. At 10,000 feet, we... More

This is the only hotel in downtown Leadville. Upon entering, there is a small contemporary gift shop to one side, but the remainder of the first floor and mezzanine is filled with high end gifts, jewelry and artifacts, many of them antiques and all for sale. There is a small restaurant off the lobby with limited service. Breakfast is offered... More

Great stay, loved the rooms in era. We stayed nice and toasty no problems with heat, even though it snowed that night. Loved that they had nic nacks to sale. It was still early for their busy season so we expected some things not to be ready for customers. They made it a great family stay, would certainly do it... More
