I'd never stayed in a hostel. What a great surprise. Like being at a friend's house with a group of highly interesting guests. Accomodations of all types from bunks to private rooms. Guests of all ages, types and interests. Lot's of outdoor enthusiasts and athletes from ultra marathoners to bikers and hikers. Very clean. The owners have done an amazing... More

It is a very clean, clean, clean place to stay. It is large and luxurious by hostel standards. There is a vixon (female fox) and kits (young foxes) living near by. Howard is a great host and he hails from a very good part of the country.

Read the reviews about this place and thought it may be a little off-beat but, it turned out awesome! Bill makes you feel right at home when you first enter. This is the only place to stay if you are an outdoor enthusiast, as their are many renters who can provide info on the area. You can bring your own... More

The owner Bill and his partner are rough diamonds with a great sense of humour who love to josh with guests. R&B music plays in the background all the time; the kitchen facilities and lounge area are great; rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Free WiFi and computer access are standard; during the Tour de France the big telly... More

I spent a night here before a solo training run. Having stayed in many hostels before, I figured on a cheap place to spend the night and not much more. Instead, I found a charming, cosy, and very welcoming place. Bill and Kathy have created a special environment where young and old adventurers mingle with families, ultramarathoners, through hikers, honeymooning... More

I have visited several hostels across the US, but Wild Bill and Cathy's Hostel in the middle of the Rockies in Leadville,Colorado, is the best, by far. The place is a haven for hikers, mountain and road bicyclists, through-hikers on the nearby Continental Divide and Colorado Trails, backpackers, peak baggers (14ers in every direction), and other recreationists, individuals, couples, families,... Bill and Kathy have lavished 14 years of loving care on this hostel, and it shows in every detail. They offer dorms, private rooms for couples, and suites for families. Leadville is a neat little Colorado mountain town surrounded by nearly limitless outdoor adventure opportunities (14ers, trout fishing, miles of paved bike trails; skiing in the winter.)

Arrived here pretty late July last year. Beautiful and really charming, both the owners and the hostel itself. The rooms are all different, with different themes. The bathroom and showers are clean and nice. Easy to get good advice on where to travel or stay later on, and they have a wonderful huge dining table which easily gets sociable.

After a deep south welcome from Wild Bill with the blues playing all day in the background - you know this is going to be an experience! Good facilities and a relaxing atmosphere with some interesting residents this is a highly recommended place to stay.
