We were pleased with every aspect of this clean and quiet private campground. Office staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and made suggestions about which spots at the campground would likely be quieter than others. The showers were very clean and we used the laundry room as well. I liked that the groups who camped in tents had... More

I have stayed at the Sugar Loafin' campground twice. Each occasion lasting two nights. The staff were helpful and the sites I stayed in (tent camping) were in good condition. The tent sites sit below beautiful pines and afforded me shade throughout the day. I would recommend this place to others who are looking for an affordable place to hang... More

When we first arrived, they lost our reservations. After finally working it out, we were treated like idiots. The lady actually walked us to our camp site, like we couldn't find it on our own.... Serious. This camp site was too overcrowded. We felt like sardines in a tin. The people were packed in there to the max, no room... More

We were all excited about coming to Sugar Loafin' after watching the video online, yet that didn't exist. Instead, it was a very primitive, no frills, potentially overcrowd experience that we'd go back and do again in a second. The views were incredible. Neighbors were neighborly. The town of Leadville makes for a great day or two experience. There are... More

We stayed at the campground in our RV in mid Sept to enjoy the colors and explore the area. The campground was clean and not crowded this late in the year but there are multiple muddy holes that need only some fill added to repair.. Friendly staff, good space between rigs and nice rec room. We hiked around Turquoise Lake,... More

We rented site 38 for two days and really liked it. Even though it rained hard the first night, unlike the other reviewer, we didn't have mud problems to speak of. We had electric, water, and sewage hookups for about $44/night. Everyone (other campers, owners etc) were friendly and accomadating and helpful. Its next to Turquise Lake which is beautiful... More

We stayed here on September 10, 2014 in a class A. The sites were mud pits with no gravel. Some sites had hand poured short and narrow concrete tracks with a large strip of weeds down the middle. When we and our neighbors tried to put down leveling jacks, we were in the mud or half on concrete and half... More

Im not gonna lie. I thought this campground was pretty ligit for its location. Everything was streamlined from online reservations, call in billings, and digital receipt. This was super convenient as we wanted to leave before the office opened. The campground was very quite. I’m sure we were the most obnoxious in the place that night. Great views of Massive... More

So I went on line and watched the video of the campground. It looked really nice, bath house, game room, and ice cream social. Yes, the bath house was nice and clean. It was cleaned daily. The sites were very small and close to your neighbor. Our site was close to the road, so we heard some traffic, but our... More
