We were all excited about coming to Sugar Loafin' after watching the video online, yet that didn't exist. Instead, it was a very primitive, no frills, potentially overcrowd experience that we'd go back and do again in a second. The views were incredible. Neighbors were neighborly. The town of Leadville makes for a great day or two experience. There are... More

We stayed at the campground in our RV in mid Sept to enjoy the colors and explore the area. The campground was clean and not crowded this late in the year but there are multiple muddy holes that need only some fill added to repair.. Friendly staff, good space between rigs and nice rec room. We hiked around Turquoise Lake,... More

We rented site 38 for two days and really liked it. Even though it rained hard the first night, unlike the other reviewer, we didn't have mud problems to speak of. We had electric, water, and sewage hookups for about $44/night. Everyone (other campers, owners etc) were friendly and accomadating and helpful. Its next to Turquise Lake which is beautiful... More

We stayed here on September 10, 2014 in a class A. The sites were mud pits with no gravel. Some sites had hand poured short and narrow concrete tracks with a large strip of weeds down the middle. When we and our neighbors tried to put down leveling jacks, we were in the mud or half on concrete and half... More

Im not gonna lie. I thought this campground was pretty ligit for its location. Everything was streamlined from online reservations, call in billings, and digital receipt. This was super convenient as we wanted to leave before the office opened. The campground was very quite. I’m sure we were the most obnoxious in the place that night. Great views of Massive... More

So I went on line and watched the video of the campground. It looked really nice, bath house, game room, and ice cream social. Yes, the bath house was nice and clean. It was cleaned daily. The sites were very small and close to your neighbor. Our site was close to the road, so we heard some traffic, but our... More

Made reservations weeks in advance. They put our 40 foot rig on a downhill muddy grassy area. Site was horrible, we sunk into the ground and I felt like I was hiking up a mountain to get to the back of the rig. Couldn't even extend our awning due to neighbor being so close. We asked to be moved 3... More

This was my first camping trip with our new popup camper, so I don't have much to compare it to, but we had a great weekend! I can understand people's complaints that the spots are too small. We were on Third Street and those spots are tree lined and bigger. We were in great proximity to both bathrooms (which were... More

We stayed here August, 2013, largely based on reviews online. Pro: Restrooms are clean, available and showers are hot and have good pressure. The staff is friendly. Con: The tent sites are crammed in like sardines and quiet hours are NOT enforced. When shown our site I wondered about the closeness and quiet hours and the manager said it was... More
