We stayed in one of the cabins and we're blown away. EVERYTHING was clean (cleaner than almost anywhere on our road trip), people were kind and the town is nestled quietly in the mountains. Don't miss the campfires at night to hear about all the people staying there...they were some of the kindest people! We cannot recommend this place enough!!!

We have stayed a number of places in Lake City, and nothing can compare to the Elkhorn. The owners are so friendly and helpful. They have campsites and cabins, all conveniently located close to town. The bathrooms and showers are sparkling clean. There's even coffee in the morning. We wouldn't stay any place else.

About May (when it started getting HOT here), we decided that a summer vacation to cooler Colorado would be a perfect destination. After doing a bit of internet research, we decided that Lake City was just off the beaten path far enough to be what we were looking for: trout fishing, mountain scenery, wildflowers, old mines, Jeep trails, etc.....But after... I cannot say enough about this place. First of all Janet & Floyd are the nicest hosts. They are always around the property cleaning, fixing, tidying, but will stop what they are doing to accommodate whatever you need or to chat. They provided fresh coffee on the common deck each morning, what an unexpected treat! They also have a wonderful... More

Just came back from our third year in Lake City and our second at Elkhorn. I came back the second time because of the great value of the camper cabins and the close proximity to town. No other place in Lake City comes close to convience and price. The owners are great and the clientele staying here are great.

We just spent two nights tent camping at Elkhorn RV Resort. This is one of the best RV parks we've ever visited. It's super clean, the owners are friendly and helpful, and it's convenient to walk to the downtown stores, restaurants, and hiking trails. The resort is only three blocks from the highway, but it's far enough away to make... More

We stayed in one of the cabins at the Elkhorn RV Resort this past weekend. The owner greeted us promptly and had our reservation waiting for us. The cabin and restrooms were very clean. We also liked the close distance to town and to the trailheads we would be hiking. Our cabin even came with a local cat, Sally, who... More

Lake City is a small town located in a valley between beautiful mountains and is a hub for many activities. We have hiked some of Colorado's 14ers, Jeeped the 4 wheel roads of Engineer Pass and Cinnamon Pass (to name a few), visited the old mining towns (Animas Forks is our favorite), and shopped the quaint town. If the winters... More

We spent a Saturday evening at Elkhorn in one of their cabins, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is also an RV park, but we did not have one, so this review is about the cabins and the amenities offered at Elkhorn. We got the last of the cabins for the weekend - the largest model, which sleeps 6. There... More
