Really lovely and quaint, bring a good book because there is nothing to do in La Veta after 8:00 PM. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, delicious breakfast! There is no air conditioning which I knew before we went and is usually fine, we happend to stay on one of the hottest nights of the year and it made it... More

The 1899 Inn is beautiful, well-kept property, with lovely bedrooms and spacious and charming common areas. Everything is clean and fresh. The breakfast room is outstanding - with glass on three sides. Be sure to check out the gorgeous stained glass work in the common areas and in the kitchen. They were all done by our hostess, Jill. She added... More

My friends & I visited the 1899 Inn B&B over a year ago. It was our first visit to La Veta. Every aspect of our experience was amazing. Jill was SO accommodating & kind. She was there to greet us, helped us with our questions about local hikes, & was just such a gentle, caring, & lovely person. We felt... More

We stayed at the 1899 B&B Inn for the first time in September. We have stayed in La Veta many times over the past few years. Why we did not discover this excellent B&B before I don't know but now that we have we will return every time we are in La Veta (when they are open). Jill is a... More

On September 5, 2014, my husband and I stayed at the 1899 B & B; we were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. We were met at the door by Jill, the hostess. She sweetly welcomed us and showed us to our room. When we entered our room we found a bottle of sparkling wine in an ice bucket, a bouquet... More

This was one of the most friendly, relaxing, and romantic hotel/B&B's that I have ever had the pleasure of staying. Just like the town, historic & scenic. This is such a beautiful old home and we so enjoyed walking through the house and looking at the history in each room. We met some friends and they stayed in the Cottage... More

So, if you are interested in new and gleaming, this probably is not the place for you. the 1899 Inn is like the rest of La Veta, Co., been around for awhile and has a lot to share. So, I recommend taking the time to spend to get to know the town - used book store, Charlie's Market, the Pinon... More

I can't say enough that's good about this charming stone B&B. I enjoyed looking at the very interesting decor and stained glass throughout the house. My room was very, very pleasant and comfortable. Even the bath, shared with two other rooms, was always available when I needed it. It helps that the rooms without a private bath have sinks in... More

We experienced a relaxing and comfortable time over the Fourth of July weekend. Jill was very hospitable and the inn has a welcoming, warm feeling the minute you walk in. We stayed in the cottage just behind the house and that was very comfortable, well-kept, and made you feel "at home." The cottage includes a bedroom, bathroom and living area... More

My mom, daughter, family friend and I stayed in the cottage at the 1899 Inn during the 4th and enjoyed great accommodations and wonderful breakfasts! Marilyn, Jill's mom, even served us lemonade during LaVeta's 4th Parade as we sat on the porch of the Inn! Wonderful!
