My boyfriend and I decided to get out of Denver for the night, so we drove up to Idaho Springs and saw The Columbine Inn. It was about 8:30 pm and freezing outside. We rang the bell and the owner, Sam came to help us. He seemed very excited to have us there, and gave us a great a deal... More

I looked up different hotels and bed and breakfasts before I visited Idaho Springs and all reviews said the same thing -- don't stay anywhere but Columbine Inn. So, I booked as instructed and thank God I did. We checked in and the woman at the front desk was sweet, friendly and quick. We then went into our room to... More

Super comfy room. Very spacious and made for a small town feel. Good location right off the highway but in town enough to feel away from the mainstream. Highly recommended for a little mountain get away. Much better value than staying at one of the chain hotels in Breckinridge or Silverthorne.

We landed in Denver and stayed 1 night at a generic airport hotel. Since our plans were to travel West we wanted a hotel about an hours drive out of Denver the next night. After looking in vain for well known chain hotels I realised I would have to find something else for the night. We wanted to drive up... More

There are no "chain " hotels in Idaho Springs, My husband and I stayed at Columbine Inn at the end of October 2012. We stayed for 5 nights. Our room was very clean and the staff tidied it up every day for us. Our room consisted of a king bed, refrig, microwave, sm kitchenette with table. The bathroom was shower/tub... More

The owner/manager was friendly enough. But when I found out there was no wi-fi signal from them, he blamed it on some guests who had left that day and suggested that I try to link into the neighboring motel's wi-fi and gave me a bogus password (so much for getting some work done for clients that evening)... That night my... More

We apologize for the misunderstanding since Wi-Fi signal problems cannot be the fault of "some guests who had left..." because the router is privately located in Columbine Inn's main office. We suggest that you tell management personally when you are dissatisfied. Our policy is to issue a refund. Sorry. Sam, Owner More

We found this place online and stayed here the last night of a weeklong vacation, before driving into Denver for an early flight. It was very clean and within walking distance of "downtown", which we loved. It was also only an hour drive from the airport. It's definitely not stylish but functional. The place is outdated and the decor reminds... More

Our motto has always been "old-fashioned comfort and hospitality" so the style and decor of Columbine Inn has been chosen accordingly. We understand that this is not "stylish" in the modern sense nor everyone's "cup of tea", but do appreciate your taking the time to post your opinion. Thank you for the kind words and for staying with us. We... More

Colorado mountain towns abound with these Mom-N-Pop Inns. The Columbine Inn stands head and shoulders above many of the others. Sam, the proprietor is professional, friendly and helpful, all whilst wearing his Colorado uniform - the tie-dyed shirt. Don't be surprised if he knows your name before you even introduce yourself. Check in is quick and easy and the office... More

Thank you for writing a review and giving your suggestions to future clientele. We appreciate your understanding of "mom and pop inns" and apologize for any short-comings. Several young housekeepers who worked here this summer were foreign exchange students who may have been in-training during your stay. Thank you for understanding and staying with us in our small mountain town.... More

Stayed one night. Walls were thin and people next to us were loud, so it was really annoying, no fault of the people that run the hotel. overall a decent place to stay. we arrived late, and the key was in an envelope near the office. no problems with the check in / check out. the only complaint is the...
