Van Eden Ranch is run by a son and mother duo (Pat and James). They go the distance to provide you with the trip you are looking for. I was in Denver visiting from California and called around town to see who would take me out for a ride the next day. For most places this was too short of... More

I brought my son here for horseback riding and it was my third visit here in the past our years. Best horse back riding place around. The place has camp sites, is away from the beaten path and Pat, James and Brett are the best! The outdoor picnic table dances with 5 types of humming birds, our horse ride was... More

This is a beautiful place for pot smoking hippies, but it's not the place to go for cleanliness or professionalism. My friends and I reserved horseback riding a month before a trip to Denver. They didn't keep track of our reservation even after I gave them my credit card info. We were supposed to stay for a dinner and hot... More

Horseback riding was great, I was coming up for spring skiing but the snow was melting fast, tons of rocks. The rooms are clean and I figure for the price of staying Down In Idaho Springs I got a room and a horseback ride which saved my weekend, James the owner was very helpful with getting my car jumped at... This place COULD be nice, but it IS filthy and looked like a stopping point for the local drunks. The kitchen was very dirty, the grounds looked like a garbage dump. Old vehicles, piles of rubbage, manure piled high. Very sad. It would take years to fix this place up.

We did not stay at this ranch, and do not think we would; however, their horseback riding was great! My family thoroughly enjoyed our guide, the views, and the horses. We went for a dinner ride. We started out about 5:00 PM, rode high up on the property seeing the incredible views, then came down for a steak dinner. No... More

The ranch was nice but it was littered with trash or houshold belongings. Alcholol bottles and cans thrown a skew. roads were in bad condition. The room had a odd smell, but not distinguishable. The buffet was not a buffet it was pizza hut, and there was bagels for breakfast. i couldn't sleep either of the two nights we stayed... More

To all perspective Van Eden Ranch & Retreat guests: Having spent 2 very dissapointing nights at this etablishment recently, I was encouraged to learn that there is an avenue by which we are able to forewarn perspective guests of the establishment in question. Bottom line: The "Van Eden" is the closest thing to a slum wev'e ever encountered in a... More
