We stayed here 2 consecutive nights and found it a peaceful alternative to Durango with lovely gardens and paths, a knock-out breakfast on a beautiful outdoor patio and cottages that are spacious and leave you feeling pampered. We had the Oak Casita, which had a nice, recently-built feel to it, but with enough southwest design elements to make for a... More

Blue Lake is our choice our annual anniversary getaway. The gardens in June are fabulous. (though we have been there in May, July and August and found the gardens to be equally lovely) We recently returned from a couple of nights in the Lake View room. Like all the rooms and cottages on the property, the room was very nice.... More

Nice place, nice views. No AC in an area where it is commonly above 90 degrees during the day. Ran out of water, not hot, just water in general, while in the shower, no real reason. The 2 upstairs rooms in the main lodge have NO AC, so figure on a daytime temp of 80+ in your room. Not that... More

Although we arrived late, the next morning held a spectacular view of the mountains from our front window (Mountain View Suite)! Also, there was a spectacular display of wildflowers outside of our window. The short walk to breakfast was nice, and the options available for breakfast were nothing short of awesome. This is a very family-friendly place, and I was... More

We stayed for four nights in the La Plate Vista room, which is a beautiful room with separate bath and toilet. The sink is in the room. Big balcony with views over the grounds and lake. The room is situated above the kitchen area where breakfast is prepared. It didn't bother us but people should know that from 6.30h you... More

Visited in Late May 2015 and stayed in Upper spring house with a girlfriend. This is upstairs but worth the effort of the steps as it raises you to the BEST views around. This is the best room in the whole place for me. Views are awesome of the mountains and it is a very private room. We each had... More

When my husband booked this B&B because he was riding the Iron Horse Classic cycling race from Durango to Silverton, I wasn't sure what to expect. The photos on the website looked very pretty, but I've seen that movie before (website looks great, place doesn't match up.) We stayed at the Oak Casita and I was impressed by it's large... More

What a wonderful place. Everything about our stay was memorable, but the Upper Spring House feels like another world. A peaceful nest surrounded by beauty. It is out of sight of the rest of the ranch, so it seems like you’re all alone. The first couple days we were there were cold and rainy, but the unit is cozy with... More

My husband and I booked an overnight stay at The Blue Lake Ranch on our way back from a trip to the Grand Canyon. We had booked the Sage Room, since it looked so pretty, charming, and intimate in the photos. When we arrived that afternoon though, we discovered that we had been displaced by a wedding party that had... More

We just returned from a trip to the southwest which included a stay at the Blue Lake Ranch. I can't find enough superlatives to describe this inn. The setting is wonderful, the rooms beautiful, the staff warm and welcoming. Breakfast is terrific and you have a great view of the lake while you eat. Frank, the innkeeper, is the friendliest,...
