We overnighted at the Rocky Top Motel on a recent hiking trip. This was our fourth stay here. On this one, we took the 'Queen-shower only' room. This is a smaller room than the ones with the kitchenettes, though it was roomy enough for two of us. If you have kids, go for one of the kitchenette rooms. There is... More

Room was spacious and front door opened to parking area. Had prepaid for 3 nights but only stayed two and no refund if you don't stay entire time. No A/C and the heater was wall mounted without a blower so room would get really hot then get chilly (back and forth all night). Bed was hard as rock (almost) however... More

As far as motel room goes it was ok but very old but clean. However there was no AC and no where on there site did it mention this. As it was in the 80's the room was very stuffy. The rooms have no view. To stay cool had to leave the windows open all night, I did not like... More

We'd intended to go camping, but a wheel flying off a truck brought us to the Rocky Top. Rather than stargaze, I found myself frantically calling hotels at nearly 9:00PM. Everyone was full and no one was particularly helpful until I called The Rocky Top. Cindy, the marvelous woman at the front desk, actually stayed late to check us in,... More

This place was wonderful! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The shower/bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen at a campground. I was amazed! The grounds were well maintained as well. We camped with a fifth wheel and had plenty of room unlike some of the other campgrounds we saw. We had an awesome mountain view. Rocky Top... More

We were looking for a decent place to overnight before hiking near Woodland Park the next day. We didn't have any kids with us this trip. Nearby places were either outrageously expensive or had received some pretty bad reviews. We took a chance on this one and were not disappointed. We booked the king-sized room. This is one of the... This place is a fine line between a trailer park and an RV park. Cons: Many of the "residents" seemed to be permanent. And as the previous reviewer stated, many with lots of stuff piled around their site. There were at least six elementary aged children, four in one unit, who were part of the permanent residents. They were loud... More

We stayed at the campground, which is aptly named because it really is rocky - and it's on top of a hill. The owners were nice and there's a little store with a few basic items. It wasn't crowded and we had no problem parking our 21 ft camper trailer. There were quite a few permanent campers with lots of... More
