We have stayed at Winding River a couple years in a row and cant wait to return. It is a great place to stay that is really convenient to RMNP and to the town of Grand Lake. The wildlife around the resort and the mountain views are amazing. The place is clean, staff is friendly and helpful. The pancake breakfast... More

While this resort is primarily for RVers and campers, I stayed in the Larkspur room - one of two guest rooms in the building that houses the store and office. These rooms are upstairs and are fairly spacious. They include a microwave and refrigerator and the basic dishes and flatware for two people. However, they do not offer a sink... More

This resort is a multi use resort. They have sites for tent camping, RV, and cabins. It's located on the border of Rocky Mountain National Park. I understand that occasionally Elk, Moose, and deer wonder through the grounds. Although, I did not see any while I was there. They have all kinds of activities for people to enjoy, like an... More

We loved this campground. The location is right outside the west entrance to Rocky Mountain (you actually enter the park to get to the campground). The area is surrounded by wilderness and we saw lots of elk and some moose near the campground. The campground has numerous activities for kids (horseback riding, petting zoo, etc) and has plenty of amenities... More

I will start with my arrival, I walk into register for my campsite after a 13 hour drive (up at 4am) and while waiting my turn no one spoke to me and when is was my turn, the only thing that was said to me was how can I help you. No friendliness what so ever, no "Is this your... More

Kids rode bikes without a worry. Horse rides, and bike rides-nice neighbors who took time to introduce their horses to our kids. Views abound and yes if you can't live without wifi and cell service we both got perfect service in the middle of the park!!!! Quiet and restful and not far from the town of Grand Lake which is... This is a fantastic park. The RV spots in the back have no concrete pads, so it can get muddy when it rains. If you have a horse this is a great place for them and you. We rode ATV's - available right at the resort. A great little zoo for the kids, too.

Stayed with folks in their motorhome during Labor Day weekend this year and in a cabin Memorial Day weekend over a year ago. This compound has a small general store, clean shower buildings, horse back riding, playgrounds for the kids and miscellaneous activities. It is located just across the river from the west side of Rocky Mountain NP so there... More

We spent a week at Winding River Resort with our two personal horses. The riding is amazing. The campground is nice, clean with not much leveling needed. The horse pens are nice and large. We cannot say enough good things about this place. All the employees were friendly and very helpful. The amount of moose, elk, deer, etc was unbelievable.... More

Stayed in a cabin the last couple nights of our trip after traveling all over the state. Great place to relax and unwind. Kids loved petting the animals, throwing rocks in the river, the pancake breakfasts on the weekend were fun, and taking the 2 hour trail ride into RMNP, the first horse ride for the boys, was a hi-lite...
