Taking the advice of a person on Tripadvisor we asked for cabin 18 ( attached to 17). There are only a few cabins with a view from the front porch. The view overlooking the lake was beautiful. The main lodge is beautiful. (I would give that and the food an Excellent). If you do not stay here you should at... More

We were at the lodge in September the same weekend of the floods in Colorado. We were supposed to stay two nites at the lodge but only ended up staying one because the Rocky Mountain Forest was closed. There was a wedding at the lodge the nite we left and it looked like it was going to be so pretty... More

We rented a 2-room cabin next to the dining lodge for three family members. Rooms were quaint, and bed was comfortable. Handicap access could have been better, but it was survive able. We had dinner at the lodge and it was the best view and best deal in town.

We stayed here for two nights. The views from the lodge area and the pool were very nice! We drove into the Rocky Mountain National Park which is very close by. We enjoyed a late lunch at the lodge for a very reasonable amount. They serve lunch all the way up to five o' clock. The rooms were updated and... More

This is the type of place you need to research and understand before you choose it, so that your expectations match the reality. It is not for everyone. It reminds me of my childhood summers spent at a wonderful camp in Estes Park. The historic lodge itself is beautiful. Amazing views of the lakes, fabulous porch swings, giant fireplace inside... We would definitely go back to Grand Lake but not to Grand Lake Lodge. We have never had such a terrible experience, ever. It was not that the cabins are so small or that you can hear your neighbors' conversations (the linens and bed were very nice), it was the service. When we checked in, the lady argued with us... Grand Lake, Colorado is at the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is a vacation city with lots of restaurants, shops and lodges. By far the most interesting of these is Grand Lake Lodge, just outside the park and a half mile north of the Grand Lake. Grand Lake Lodge reminds one of the glorious national park lodges... More

This was our first stay after the new owners reopened the lodge. The cabins have been extensively upgraded, but could have been better. The spacious bathroom has a tiny shower stall you can barely turn around in. Lots of unused space around the commode would allow for a much larger shower. The vanity was tiny. A larger vanity would easily... More

We attended a lovely wedding -- held on a beautiful deck/porch overlooking the Grand Lake views. The reception was in an indoor/outdoor patio area nearby (steep stairs - be careful in heels!!) that also was rustic, lovely and had great views of the lakes and mountains nearby. The Lodge catering staff did a great job and were friendly, smiling, upbeat... More
