I had to downrate this hotel because of the discovery of a used condom on the floor next to the bed. I spoke to the management about it. They were sorry but did nothing to compensate for such an incredible housekeeping lapse. Otherwise the stay was fine. The hotel is located on Main St. within walking distance to shops and... more

Stayed here w/ my dad so we could catch Amtrak the next morning (back to Denver after a long road trip). He saw the Best Western Sandman online and we canceled my reservations there. He's picky that way. Well - it worked out. Clean rooms, nice staff, great rate. Overheard front desk staff that it's usually better to call than... more

We stayed here one night after the Hampton Inn next door, where we had a reservation, couldn't find us a room. They comped us at the Hawthorn, which was nice. We had a one-bedroom suite with a kitchen and sleeper couch. It was plenty roomy, everything was spotlessly clean, and it was much quieter than the Hampton would have been.... more

We stayed here for 4 nights during the week of 1/26/09. Over all this is a great hotel. The breakfast buffet was great and the employee who worked the breakfast area was the best - she did not stop moving, she keep everything full and clean. In fact all the employees where very friendly. The room was huge. We had... more

I decided to stay at Hawthorne based on the Trip Advisor reviews. When I arrived at the hotel, I was impressed with the look of the hotel outside and the lobby inside. The check-in staff was friendly and quick. However, when I opened the door to my room, I was immediately disappointed. The carpet was heavily stained and un-vaccummed. The... more

Very nice hotel. Huge room (had the queen studio) with very comfortable mattress, soft sheets and feather bed, and lots of comfy pillows. Very quiet and clean. The free breakfast was great - had the usual continental breakfast fare but with a flare like real cheddar cheese on the eggs and herbs in the hashbrowns. Staff was friendly and effecient... more

Overall we were very pleased with this new motel and our clean, quiet, spacious, well equipped room. Good location with ready access to the road out to the Colorado National Monument. Our only complaints concerned minor housekeeping deficiencies: the toilet stopped up, one bathroom light was out, and the lamp next to the bed was unplugged because the radio was... more

I stayed at this hotel for business. It's a good hotel overall. It has one of the best hot breakfasts I've had for this hotel class. The people are also really nice and responsive, but one person at the front desk did not know where the Black Canyon (a famous canyon in Western Colorado) was. The hotel room was neat,... more

We just returned to CA after spending 6 glorious days enjoying light snow fall, family, friends and Christmas celebrations in Grand Junction, CO. This is our 3rd time staying at this hotel and will not stay anywhere else when visiting Grand Junction. We (my husband and 10 yo daughter) were lucky enough to stay in the same suite all 3... more
