I stayed here. It was a good experience. I was nervous when I read reviews and they were taking about Hostel. I had a private room though. The hotel was very clean and staff was very helpful. I would definately stay here again.

This was a nice cozy little hotel in Fraser (5 mi from Winter Park resort). We were upgraded to a better room when we got there and it had everything we needed. The rooms were nice, clean and modern. We had a room right by the bfast and check-in area, but it turned out to be a pretty quiet hotel/chalet... More

The best hosteling experience so far in the United States. The staff is super-friendly, something we get only in hotels 4-star and above. I came with a reservation from "Hostels.com", and when I arrived, they told me that they do not have any space left (because of a glitch in the website which allowed booking even after everything is full).... The only reason I ski at Winter Park is because of the Rocky Mountain Chalet. The Rocky Mountain is not just a place to stay, it’s a place where people come from all over the world and make friends. The Chalet is made up of a hostel area upstairs and private rooms downstairs of an extremely high standard. The upstairs... More

Liked the location. The shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off nearby and there is a Safeway across the street. The upstairs operates as a hostel and the community kitchen is available for all to use. I was surprised that several people come back at the same time each year from all over (one guy was from... My wife and I took our 3yo grandson on an overnighter to Fraser-WinterPark CO high atop the Continental Divide. The 2-hr train ride from Denver was quite scenic; reminded us of our trips to Germany. The Chalet further brought us back to Bavaria. A short walk from the Fraser train station, we were immediately greeted with gasthaus hospitality. We stayed... More

Hubby and I booked this same-day and got a great rate on an ADORABLE room! We had the "Meadow" suite and as soon as we walked into the hotel we were thrilled with the service provided to us by the gal manning the check-in desk. Our room was on the ground floor, just off of the breakfast area. However, when... More

The RMC was delightful! Our room was lovely and comfortable. The continental breakfast far exceeded our expectations. The owner/ staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great and we would highly recommend it. Our room was private but we chatted with several folks staying in the hostel and they thought it was the nicest hostel they had ever stayed... We loved our stay at The Rocky Mountain Chalet. Linda was so accommodating and very, very nice to us. We definitely want to return. The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Linda recommended hiking trails and offered other helpful information.

Quiet, clean, nice big kitchen to cook in, OK to do late check ins, a few bathrooms so you never have to wait for anyone. I am not sure if the internet was working last time I was there. You can sometimes hear the train or road but it is not too loud. It is conveniently located near Safeway and... More
