The Bells Gorge Wilderness Lodge is in a great setting especially in the morning and the evening where you can see the changing of the colours of the ridge line. Very scenic. Of all the APT lodges these are very close to each other and therefore lack a degree of privatise The entertainment aea is very nice and comfortable and... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of the APT tour to the top end of Australia. It was a nice experience. 1) The resort - the lounge room/dinning, camp fire & tents had the same formula & configuration as the other APT wilderness lodges. However, the restaurant had a more pleasant outlook on to trees & cattle 2)... More

Our accommodation at Bell Gorge was booked for us as part of a self-drive accommodated tour of The Kimberley. It was one of the best places we stayed in. Our "tent" was at the end of the row overlooking the surrounding bush and Precipice Ranges. It was well-equipped with comfortable beds, space for luggage and an ensuite bathroom. Meals were... More

We are with you Gary H - we were also very pleasantly surprised by the hospitality extended by Dave on arrival and were not on an APT tour but Gibb River Road travellers. The dinner served was sensational, starters of smoked salmon, delicious duck for mains and beautiful desert. Top restaurant style meal served in the Kimberley outback in a... More

At $550.00 per night, plus credit charge levy, plus grog, plus self cartage of luggage twice over dirt tracks, this place is to be avoided. The accommodation is quaint but the equivalent of a 2nd rate motel. If i had a second chance, i would go back to Fitzroy Crossing..

I review this now in the context of having completed the Gibb River Road and realise how limited is the availability of accomodation. It is a lovely setting and we luckily had a tent on the edge facing the bush and the red cliffs. You soon realise this is primarily an APT outfit and for their guests. They make you... More

Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised, not only by the very friendly staff, but the more than comfortable camping arrangements. On arrival, the very cordial greeting from Dave set the scene for a wonderful 4 days and was topped off with the fantastic cuisine delivered by Sean and his staff. Returning each afternoon from a day's sightseeing, to... More

The food at BGWL was fantastic - congratulations Sean! With a little more planning this could be a great place to stay, rather than average. The tents are so close together you can hear snores from fellow residents...also all conversation and whatever! People on tours starting their days at 6.15 makes sure you're awake early. The word' wilderness' is a... More

I gave one star for the food which was great. The accommodation was freezing with only mesh to keep the bitterly cold night air out. We froze and ended up wearing several layers of clothes to bed. We were also woken well before 6am by the endless stream of tour bus guests pulling their suitcases past our tent, talking loudly... More

We stayed 2 nights as part of our Kimberley guided tour. It was our first time to experience camping in the wilderness and we didn't quite know what to expect in the middle of nowhere! It was a pleasant surprise indeed. Not only the camp site is well located and the kitchen well equipped, each one of our tents were... More
