We stayed last minute on an overnight on way from Denver to grand junction a beautiful place!! The only reason I didn't rate it excellent is because there aren't any hookups and the road coming in is not paved and rough. We took hike around lake it's just wonderful

This has been a family tradition every summer for years since we found it. The lake is great fun for the kids taking out the rental paddle boats or canoe. We attempt to fish, have never caught anything. The hiking is wonderful one of our favorite spots in Colorado.

Booked a stay at Fisherman's Paradise sight 35. Most people are considerate about using there generators. Others, not so much. Our neighbors started there generator at 6:30 to 7:00 every morning and ran it continuously. The policy at Sylvan is 6:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night. Give me break! If you don't want peace and quiet, stay home.... More

Just went on a trip from June 7 - 14 and it was great. There were 14 of us that went and we rented cabins 6, 7, & 8. I'm so glad we got these because the one by the lake had so many mosquitos you could be eaten alive lol. Up on the hill where we were there really... More

I stayed in a camping cabin at Sylvan Lake State Park. The cabin is 2 rooms (some are a single room) with the front room having a table and chairs, propane heater, chairs, and some shelves for storage. The other room is a bedroom, with three single beds and a double bed. The cabins (except cabin #1) do not have... More

On the first day of fall, my girlfriend and I spent a night camping at Sylvan Lake. When we arrived (a 3 hour journey from Colorado Springs), we were greeted by an amazing scene. Storm clouds surrounded the park and the aspens were just starting to turn. Our trip was marred by a steady down pour and a cold night... More

We came at the wrong time of the year! It was right after a snow storm, and we did not come with snowshoes and proper snow-apparel! So, we were able to walk across the frozen water a little bit, but there wasn't much else for us to do due to the snow. We basically drove the road of the park... More

The views are breathtaking, although there aren't many trees. We tent camp there several times a year and rent a cabin over Fall Break. Stargazing, especially in mid- late August and October during the week prior to and after meteor showers are UNREAL. I guarantee you haven't seen anything like it, unless you've stargazed showers in the desert. There is... More

We found this park while planing a trip out west from the Chicago area. Was the only park on I-70 we could find reservations for at the time. We only needed a place to sleep for the night so our requirements were few. Was quite a drive from I-70 some in town some on asphalt but most on a gravel... More

The only thing to do here was fish and some small hikes. We stayed two nights and our kids got bored after the first day. They do have canoes you can rent but, the lake is small so you can navigate the entire lake pretty quickly. The campsites are nice although if you are tent camping you will need to... More
