After a wayward GPS took us off track, we arrived in Durango 2 hours later than planned and having come from a harrowing trip over the "Million Dollar Highway" at midnight, I grabbed the first place I saw to stay the night. It turned out to be the Iron Horse Inn. They charged me $69 (plus tax) for a room... More

There were several lightbulb a burnt out when we arrived. The entrance is very cumbersome and difficult to get in and out of. I enjoyed the dual story option but the rooms were seriously lacking outlets. The shower head was so low I had to do a squat to get my hair wet. Overall it's would be a nicer place... More

Older, but clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Cell service was minimal, but the Wi-Fi worked great. Would have liked to have a coffee pot and an iron in the room.

Older hotel with potential. Owners are working to update. They were extremely nice and accommodating. They responded to all my requests promptly. I had memories of this hotel from many years ago when it was much newer. It used to be configured with a livingroom on the ground floor and bedroom upstairs. I prefer the old configuration. Perhaps they still... More

This place was cute, the upstairs was perfect for the kids. Fridge and microwave were great to have as well. Not to far from Purgatory so perfect if your going skiing or boarding also close to hiking trails awesome! !

We got two rooms here for a party of 4. They are dated, smell kind of funny, and are in need of some work. There aren't really any "views" to speak of, even though the hotel's site makes it seem like there are. The trolley is a very short walk away, so that's nice. Dog friendly, which is great. All... We were relieved and overjoyed that the hotel manager woke up at 3:15am to accommodate our unexpectedly delayed arrival. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and much more spacious than we expected. We typically stay at the doubletree Hilton, but he Iron Horse will be our first choice from now on.

Price was good for our motorcycle group but the rooms could use some updating. The person at the desk did act like she was on something and breakfast was lacking. We sat around outside the rooms and played music and sang with some other guest so i would have given a 4 star but when we pulled through the center... More

Very pleasant staff. TV, micro-wave, refrigerator. Very pet friendly hotel. Dogs everywhere. Unfortunately, if you have pets you must stay in an un-renovated room. Dirty worn carpet. The bed that sucks all into the middle. The hot water was just a trickle; not enough pressure to rinse a razor. Shaved in cold water (just like the field). It's a loft... More

Iron Horse is a quiet little out of the way place right next to the historic Steam powered train that runs from Durango to Silverton. If you stay here you must get the deluxe track side room. Or don't stay! This gives you a tiny 2 story condo, sort of. Upstairs is a queen bed...fantastic super private view of the... More
