Our family of 5 stayed at this hotel recently. This hotel was great for our family with all it had to offer (pool, kids eat free at Applebees, workout room, etc). The hotel is within walking distance to main street Durango, plenty of restaurants and the train. There is also a very nice path that goes along the river right... more

Very nice, clean, comfortable, quiet room for family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. Aaaahhh....zzzzz. Room with river view. Walking distance to train. Only objection was that the waiter at attached Applebee's restaurant served the kids regular sized beverages, which he then charged us for, instead of serving the kid-sized that were supposed to be free with their meals.... more

Excellent position on edge of Durango which is a lovely old western town with plenty of shops and restaurants, plus the Durango and Silverton railway and museum. Rooms good size but tiny bathroom, vanity unit outside bathroom. Nice lobby area with free internet. Pleasant and helpful staff. Hotel positioned along side fast flowing river, nice outlook, small picnic area with... more

Stayed here with a large group and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and the furnishings. It was much better than I anticipated. This is the older motel type Holiday Inn so some rooms open up onto parking lot, but your also right on the river so its sort of a tradeoff. The only negative is the... more

LOCATION - GREAT - WALK TO THE HISTORICAL CITY CENTER HOTEL - It was "fine" The property is old and worn. Our check-in went smooth until my friend came back and showed me our room (#200) on the end next to the road. Went back to the front desk and asked if it's noisy and was told it was not.... more

The best thing about this hotel was the location - walking distance to some great restaurants on Main Ave. The room was clean although a friend commented on his room having a smoky smell. The other downside was mattress: I felt I was gonna slide off at times. Still glad we stayed there though. It was nice to have the... more

We spent only one night in Durango for a train outing and didn't spend much time in our room, which was probably just as well. This hotel is one of the older types of Holiday Inns, more like a motor inn than a hotel. Our room was on the outside, with a door that faced the parking lot so I... more

We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel room was exceptionally clean and updated in the 2000's. Really, the furnishings were not much different than the Double Tree which I stayed on my previous visit. Best value for the $. They even had a pillow menu with down pillows, the beds were very comfortable, big tv, clean work out room with an... more

The room was a normal old motel room. Clean, neat. Breakfast was OK. The reason for the low rating is the price. We stayed at an incredible B&B (Apple Orchard Inn) the next night for not much more $, probably less if you take breakfast into account. I feel as though I were somewhat taken. I guess you're paying for... more

I read lots of negative reviews of this hotel and I was intending not to book here. However, when I scheduled our rafting tour the woman on the phone promised me that she had stayed here with her mother who is picky and they thought it was fine. I tend to be pretty picky, but to keep the expenses of... more
