I stayed at the Rochester for five days last week, which is a long time to stay in one hotel. But it felt so much like home that I hated to leave! The rooms are large, charming, clean, and delightful--each room has a movie "theme" via posters that is fun without being kitschy. The service is fantastic; they seem to... More

Our daughter is a student at FLC, luckily just a Freshman, so we will get to stay with the Rochester / Leland House folks for at least three years for several times a year! The very cool atmosphere in the hotel, a perfect pairing of modern convenience and nostalgia, is very welcoming! The breakfast is fabulous, the staff friendly, the... More

We stayed at the Rochester after I did some searching for historic hotels in town. This place is off the main drag but well within walking distance of everything. The staff was great! We had a great stay as my son is thinking of going to Fort Lewis College. The breakfast was great and the coffee even better. The only... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us! We enjoyed having you here. Yes, few people use the hotel computer. However, it should always work for our guests. We are in the process of doing some updates and fixing it up. We hope your son chooses FLC and that we see you again soon. Don't forget that... More

I recently stayed at the Rochester during a business trip to Durango. I couldn't have been more pleased. I was SO impressed that all the staff remembered my name each day. They have a hot breakfast each morning that is different every day. But it is always home cooked and delicious!! I am not talking about a buffet, but a... More

They call it rustic. I call it tired and marginally maintained. The breakfast staff was the "B" team. After waiting 40 minutes and seeing five other people, that came in after us, served their food; we checked out and went down the street for breakfast. The worst part was when we complained to the "Owner", he did not seem to... More

Dear Kerry, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry about your experience at breakfast. Our server Kaleb had made a mistake with the order and had not properly communicated the mistake with our chef and other kitchen staff which led to the delay you had to experience. I tried to be sympathetic to your situation, but I was... More

We stayed with the awesome Rochester family for our sons graduation from Ft. Lewis in Dec. 2013. We were pleased with the owner Kirk, and the awesome staff. We had a reservation mix up, due to our pet. Everyone brainstormed to accommodate us and our dog. We couldn't have been more pleased with the effort everyone gave to the situation.... More

This place hits on all cylinders, great old historic hotel, the best most attentive staff, very nice rooms, impeccably clean, very nice breakfast and tea, cookies all afternoon. I've seen some of the other reviews it's true this place does blur the line between a hotel and B&B but it does both very well. Great free internet, good sized room,... More

The hotel and surroundings are so cute & comfortable, you will feel at home here. We stayed here in late September. Since the weather was still nice, we were able to enjoy a live band on the patio outside in the evening. We really enjoyed that. The location is so nice, you are really right in the heart of downtown... More

I loved staying at the Rochester. it is on Second Avenue one block off of Main Avenue so it's close to everything downtown, but quieter and more beautiful. The hotel grounds are lovely and the rooms are spacious and they include a fantastic breakfast! They even put a dog bed in my room for my pooch! The staff was super... More

The Rochester Hotel and Leland House are hidden jewels in Durango! It is close to everything but off Main Avenue. The staff here think customer satisfaction as number 1. From check-in to check-out, there is nothing they won't do for you. Previously I stayed at Leland House but wanted to stay in the Hotel this time. Our room was delightful,... More
