Our room was on the second floor and included a kitchenette. The room was plenty large and overlooked the street below (which was dead quiet at night). The bathroom was modern and gleamingly clean and bright. If you want a tub--note that most rooms only have showers. The common areas of the hotel are well-kept and comfortable, with a nice... more

We were so excited to stay at the Rochester Hotel! We made our reservations online and received a call to confirm and that is when things went from bad to worse. We were informed that the price we were given with our reservation on THEIR website was wrong and we would have to pay the difference, which was an additional... more

First time in Durango with the sole purpose of a base to tour Mesa Verde. This quaint luxury small hotel and B&B was absolute heaven. Very friendly and helpful staff especailly with my huge heavy luggage. I was given an upgrade to a king room in the main hotel. It was so luxurious. So clean, open , airy and the... more

We recently enjoyed three nights at the Rochester. The hotel is clean, comfortable, with a very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was wonderful. There was a hot breakfast item prepared every morning to go along with the buffet of fruit, yogurt, muffins, cereal, etc. The hotel is centrally located, just one block off Main Street and within walking distance to... more

The Rochester Hotel and Leland House is a wonderful stay. Old building with some of the old fixtures - history, but wonderfully updated bed, lovely tiled bathrooms, very clean and even some luxuries - bathrobe, Aveda bath products, CD/music player... And a wonderful breakfast with lovely, attentive staff. It is in walking distance of lots of good restaurants. Definitely would... more

I stayed at the Rochester this past February and felt right at home! My boyfriend and I came for a romantic getaway and fell in love with the Rochester. Our king room was larger than I expected for a bed & breakfast and had a luxurious western feel to it, without going too overboard. The location and staff were the... more

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Rochester. We spent a night in one of the dog-friendly rooms, and thought it was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Our dog really enjoyed the thoughtful bed and treat. The breakfast was very nice- the French toast was delicious. We enjoyed a nice drink at the Steamhouse Brewery down the... more

About 3 months ago I booked 3 rooms for 6 family members through the Rochester Hotel's web site. I booked 2 rooms in the main house and one studio across the street at the sister property, the Leland House. The rooms at the Rochester were exceptional in size for an historic hotel. The Leland House room was understandably small w/... more

... this place may not charm you the way it has other reviewers. We weren't. We stayed in a very small room for $189 per night mid-week rate in late August. We had two queen beds with pretty pink and white hand-sewn quilts, and cowboy movie photographs and posters decorated our room walls as well as common areas of the... more
