The campground is very spread out and very well kept. The bathrooms are clean and the camp host, Ann, is very welcoming and friendly. The campground was $19/night which seemed steep at first but when you realize how big the sites are and how beautiful the scenery is, it is worth every penny. The grounds are right across from the... We stopped off here on our way back from Silverton to Ouray. We are not campers but enjoy the outdoors, hiking and beautiful scenery. We usually don't do car camping, but we enjoyed our 2-night stay at South Mineral Campground. It's only 100 yards from the TH to Ice and Island Lakes, and only 6 miles outside of Silverton.
