We have stayed at the Durango Riverside Resort three different years during the fall when we visited the area to ride the Durango-Silverton Train. The location is ideal for an outdoor experience, yet being close to Durango. We have camped and we have stayed in the cabins. The staff and amenities are great!

People there go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. We had an amazing time there the last two years in a row. We have another trip planned this year. I would recommend this place to everyone and do!

Year after year we visit Riverside Resort with our children. The cabins are clean, well maintained, and are quiet enough to give us a very peaceful vacation. We love the staff, as they have always went out of there way to make sure that our vacation was top notch. The kids love the small store that is onsite. Our ONLY... More

Loved the resort! Situated right on the Animas river, with a nice viewing deck. We could see wildlife daily, and it was just the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. A big convenience is that the Front Desk lobby has a small store for all the essentials, and a very nice gift shop too! The drive to Durango is beautiful... More

We just spent a week in our RV along the Animas River. What a perfect spot. The staff were all very helpful. What a beautiful place to stay. Close enough to town. Make sure you check out James Ranch & Honeyville along the way. The D -S Train was our favorite! Looking forward to our next trip!

This place would be fine if you were in a self-contained RV, however, the restrooms, showers and garbage dumpsters were not adequate for the number of people using them. Even though there were signs warning of bears, the dumpsters were overflowing with sacks of garbage on top of them. The restrooms ran out of paper towels and there were issues... More

Pulled up to the campground and greeted by a very friendly woman who checked us in and oriented us to the campground and the cabin we reserved. We reserved the cabin TWILIGHT months before our visit and were told it was the last one available when we spoke on the phone. When I reserved the cabin I had concerns about... More

Quiet most of the time, rest rooms cleaned only once daily for a full park, ice cream available only four hours per week; campsites are quiet small with little privacy. We had really anticipated this vacation and this spot and it was only average.

Ok so I made my reservations in march told them I have a motor home and we are pulling a trailer. Great, get there and we have a problem dropping the trailer because the place is so tight. There has been no thought on parking vehicles, rv's, motorhome etc...to get out, both lanes go head to head, makes no sense.... More

Will NEVER return to this place. Tried to check in at 2pm which is check in time and our room wasnt ready until 3pm. The staff was arrogant and unapologetic. For some reason this place thinks because they are riverside and have some views they can treat you anyway they want. We got permission to use free space on the... More

We regret that diplomacy failed in this situation, and it has undoubtedly and quickly become an embarrassment for everyone involved. We will attempt to reach the tournament director to try and resolve this matter amicably. Expectations were not met. The tournament disc golfers expected free reign of the resort. Management expected professional etiquette and orderly behavior from the tournament guests.... More
