Thanks for q beautiful place to stay w a fun well kept pool, game room, playground. The game room was nice to get out of the rain. Store items are overpriced. River access could be made much better.Showers could use enlarged & we're not big people. We stayed a week, loved it.

I welcome the owner of the park to contact me. The management is inept and rude. The first day of our vacation was ruined due to their inability to manage the park. Apparently the reservation we made several months prior to our vacation(and had a printed copy of) meant nothing to the management. We also left a day early because... More

We booked a stay here in August 14. We were looking for a place to sleep one night; we are tent campers and don't like campgrounds as we find them very crowded and noisy, but the reviews sounded okay and we were coming in late so we weren't sure we could find a place in the USFS for a camp.... Loved it! Just beautiful! My husband, 2 young daughters and I had a great, relaxing time. Every evening they show an animated movie for the kids under the stars. My girls felt so special because they got to pick the movies out every morning. The laundry room came in handy, they have a great game room, and a nice play... More

I'm first going to talk about the positives of this RV park, and there are many positives. This place has a great location, right on the banks of the Animas River. There are trees all over, and you're in the valley of the mountains, so when you look up, you see mountains. In the morning, you hear the whistle and... More

We are really state park and national park kind of campers but we were afraid Mesa Verde campground would be full. It's a little out of the way, being 11 mikes north of town, but beats the heck out of the KOA we camped at last time. We were lucky not to have anyone next to us so that we... More

Located about 15 minutes from Durango, this resort has lots of amenities that cater to families including a playground, pool, and age appropriate movies shown in the evening under the stars. Our 3 year old loved it! We camped on the south side in a 5th wheel trailer. The sites were fairly close together especially with slide outs. Fire pits... More

This place caters to families as it offers evening movies outside, an ice cream 'hut', a nice pool, and playground. It's conveniently located about 12 miles outside the town of Durango - easy drive. We rented a 1 room cabin on the river for 2 nights. Each cabin has an outside picnic table, fire pit, grill (bring your own charcoal),... More

We booked two of the camping sites on a family roadtrip. We arrived to find that not only were our sites not together as requested, but one of the sites, (mine), was a gravel patch on a hill. Ridiculous and laughable spot, wish I remembered to take a picture. The firepit being on the tip top of the hill, so... More

We took the recommendation of friends and booked a one-room cabin for a family of 3. At the time, riverside cabins were booked so we were in one up on the rise. (The observation deck along the river is a must see spectacular views of the river/canyon). Be aware this site is not right outside if town as it's 15... More

Shaded by towering pines, this San Juan Mountains campground nestles against the Animas River 12 miles north of Durango. Many of the campsites and cabins lie just steps from the broad, rock-bottom river popular with anglers and kayakers. For breathtaking alpine scenery, take a day trip on the steam-powered Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad or drive the 232-mile San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway. This campground features a large pool, game room, basketball court, pet area and lots of fun for kids. At sunset, grab a sundae at the ice cream parlor or a cup of coffee at the espresso shop, then head for the outdoor movie theater. The café serves breakfast and dinner. ... more   less
