We visited Durango in mid-March, staying 4 nights at the economical and perfectly located Durango Lodge. It's a no-frills hotel and why not? You visit Durango to be outdoors, experiencing new restaurants, and exploring downtown. The room was immaculate, beds comfy, bathroom small, but practical, and the outdoor jacuzzi was plenty hot. Very standard breakfast selections came with the price... More

Just stayed there for two nights. It was a nice location within walking distance to most of the downtown Durango shops and restaurants. Overall a decent stay. Room was decent. If you are the type to go to bed early, I recommend trying to get an upstairs room. I was in room 104 which is the spot that pretty much... More

The lodge is in a great location, a short walk to the train station and main street. The lodge is surrounded by high cost hotels and Inn's yet they keep their prices reasonable. The first night we were there we got the dreaded room 118, it was right by the stairs and yes it was noisy, so the next day... More

My husband and i used to stay at the lodge regularly until we bought a condo north of Durango- it's been eight years since we've stayed there. We had our place rented during Snowdown and had never been so we were happy to have an excuse to return. We were not disappointed! The staff was very helpful, and patient, during... More

I will first start by saying the room is very nice and very clean and the location is perfect! That is the best I can say for this establishment. My husband and I recently took a road trip, traveling all over the country. We arrived in Durango 20 plus hours later, tired, wanting a shower so that we could check... More

My kids and I had a view of downtown, open patio, and plenty of towels. Excellent service. The breakfast was good. I even took a to go coffee and they let us park there while we walked to the train station for our day trip. The evening was perfect, we walked to local places for seafood and desserts. The location... More

We own a Condo in downtown Durango. We rented our daughter 5 nights at the Durango Lodge. It is walking distance to our condo and thought it would be perfect since our condo is really crowded when all our children are with us. The first night we arrived and they checked in then sink did not work, they reported the... More

As the owner, I am very sorry for your experience with the Durango Lodge. We have been there since the beginning and hate to see this happen. As those two room just went thru a deep clean, I cannot understand how this happened but do sincerely apologize and are glad that you were able to find a room nearby. Judi... More

From the western-style false front facade and small parking lot, you'd have no idea that the rooms here are as large as they are. Breakfast in the lobby is minimal. The location is ideal. The Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge RR is less than a block away. The location is great for walking to bakeries, restaurants, and shops. The "A Shared Blanket"... More

The rooms are clean and spacious BUT having the housekeeping staff knock and come in at 8:20 AM was a bit over the top. USE the Do Not Disturb sign since the front desk does not inform housekeeping of check outs.

After researching rooms & prices for the 4 days we were staying in Durango we settled on the Durango Lodge and were not disappointed. The location is perfect tor the railroad plus all the historic downtown restaurants and stores. This is an older property, so don't go in thinking you are staying in a cookie cutter chain. That said the... More
