We enjoyed our stay (3 nights). As others have said, the sites are narrow, but it didn't bother us. We were up against the canyon wall on one side, so it felt very secluded. They have a wonderful grass dog park that our two dogs enjoyed. We didn't use the pool, but it looked sparkling and had lots of flowers... More

My boyfriend and I rode up to Durango and stayed at this campground Labor Day weekend. We stayed in camper cabin #2. It was located close to the bathroom and just off the paved road (nice for the motorcycles) but not too close to other campers and nicely shaded. The campground is clean and staff is friendly. The campground is... More

Wonderful owners greet you and try to accommodate your every need. Campsites are small and close together, but the facilities are pristine. Great place for kids with a playground, games and a swimming pool. Very close to downtown Durango yet far enough away for peace and quiet.

My husband, a friend, and I rode our motorcycles up for the Ignacio/Durango bike rally this past weekend. The owner(s) was wonderful and booked us a spot on paved road, right next to the creek. The camping was full, and yes as some stated they are right next to you....but we loved it. Felt like a community, and had all... More

We enjoyed that it was out of town, but still very close to downtown shopping & dining. Sites are gravel and not level. We needed to borrow blocks from another RVer in our group to get level. (We carry 2sets of stacking blocks & 2 6x8 wood blocks, but that wasn't enough.) Most sites are very close together. Only a... More

After our first visit to Durango, I would definitely come back to this campground. Great setting, quiet and well maintained. The bath houses were clean, campsites nice and all hookups were in order. The staff and owners were great and highly engaged and visible. My kids loved the heated pool after we dragged them around on day trips. Yes, wi-fi... More

Campground was one of the cleanest I have ever seen. However, very very tight quarters. Kind of a rack em and stack em campground. I could have shook hands out of the window with our neighbors. Too close for comfort. Very regimented campground.

We had a great experience staying in a camper cabin here for 2 nights. The camper cabins are very basic - battery operated light, and bunk beds (just the mattresses - BYO bedding). We opted for the the creekside cabin for a tad more $, The creek was dry, but my kids still enjoyed exploring it. By opting to stay... More

Stayed at Lightner Creek for 2 nights in the course of a 2-week trip across the West. It was the best overall campground we stayed at on the trip. Great, friendly service in the office. Quaint, smallish campground in a peaceful setting in the valley along the creek. A variety of sites to accommodate most anyone - we had a... More

This campground was recommended to us by a retired couple who make Lighter Creek Campground their destination during the summer months. We had a gorgeous site along the creek. Campsites are very private. The sights are easy in and out. Other than the hummingbirds zipping by your head, the campground is extremely quiet. Something we did not realize until the... More
