Beautiful campground/RV Park in the perfect setting. We loved the location, which was minutes from town, and not located on a main highway. The campground is a short distance down a side road, and is set back in a wooded creekside area. Sites have mature trees and grassy areas with picnic tables (a few have decks built out over the... Remote nature location yet only 5 to 10 minute drive to Durango, and maybe 30 minutes to Mesa Verde. Exceptionally beautiful mountain setting with large sites. Smaller campground with very clean bathrooms. Staff very friendly and seemed committed to service. Offer gas fire pits $10 per day that worked great. When in this area we will definitely stay here again... More

I am so thankful that we decided to stay here. After arriving in Durango not sure of where we were going to camp, we took a chance and found this campground. Only going to stay a night or two, we ended up staying here four nights. It was conveniently located to Durango/ Silverton Railroad, Mesa Verde and the Million Dollar... More

Fantastic family run campground. This campground is Not an overrun RV park. There is Power, water, great shower block, and is located in a quiet little place in the woods about 3 miles out of town. There is the option of renting small cabins as well. We would come here and stay here again!

The family reviewed several campgrounds in the Durango area before settling on Lightner Creek. Are we ever pleased that luck would bring us to such an awesome pretty area, off the beaten path. The area was all you could hope for in a campground. Being from the southeast, trees matter to us. This campground had ample trees. The bathhouse was... More

If you have ever dreamed of camping in the Colorado mountains next to a babbling brook, this is the place for you. This camp site is tightly run with clean, well thought out sites & facilities. Phone service is not great & internet not good. A great place to get away. We loved hearing the brook all night. Close enough... More

We stayed in a housekeeping cabin for a week in August. The cabin is just right for a family of four, who is active outside of the campground, during the day. It would be a little too tight next to neighbors to enjoy relaxing at all day. The inside is small, but, is well furnished, fully equipped, clean, and has... More

This is a very pretty place. The staff are very, very nice. I don't recommend it for a Class A. There are couple of spots good for Class A. The road here is 1 1/2 miles of twisty hilly road then a steep drop into the campground. Spots are so close you can shake hands out your window. We were... More
