We enjoyed or stay. A bed and breakfast starts with the management's heart. And Walt's heart is in the right place. Great hot tub in room. Great historic mansion. ( giant chair in entry room is perfect for photo opt.) Great breakfast ! Enjoyed Apple too. ( Chihuahua) Amazing amount of time and care went into restoration. Thanks for the... More

Walter the innkeeper was very knowledgeable of the mansion's history and a wonderful host. We liked Apple, the chihuahua, too! :) Very responsive and always ready to help. The gourmet breakfast was great and the perfect time way to start the day.

We stayed in the Keller Suite and the room is absolutely beautiful. The jetted tub was especially nice. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast served in the morning was good. Owner Walter was extremely nice and knowledgable of the mansion's history. We plan to go and stay again and see the show. Close to Lo-Hi.

My fiance and I found out about the Lumber Baron after reading a book about Haunted Hotels in Colorado. We had made a reservation at another Inn, but they double booked the room. We called Walter and he offered us the choice of three rooms. Upon arrival, he gave us a tour of the Inn. We chose to stay in... More

Although we didn't stay there guests of the B&B, we attended the Murder Mystery Dinner (Bridezilla). The evening began at 6, with casual cocktail banter between performers playing their roles & the guests. We then proceeded to the third floor ballroom, where the show began. Shortly there was an intermission, at which time dinner was served. OUTSTANDING! With decadent dessert... More

The lumber baron is so beautiful! We enjoyed hearing about the history of the mansion from the awesome owners. The breakfasts were SO delicious! The place has a charming, slightly spooky, and completely unique feel to it. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed at this place while checking out Denver for a possible relocation. The owner (Walt) and his wife (Julie) are fantastic hosts and were extremely professional and helpful. The mansion has been beautifully and lovingly restored by hand and their pride in their work shows. If you are looking for a unique experience with a personal... More

When first arriving it was very mysterious. The owner is very nice. The breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the valentine suite and it was just like saying in an old mansion. Problems: bathroom in a tiny closet then actual shower even smaller than the closet. There's a door to the bathroom closet and a shower curtain over the shower... More

I came from Philadelphia to Denver to visit friends. We always try to find something a little different to do. This was it. As soon as you walked in the beautiful mansion's parlor, you met the cast of the show. All were in "Character" and characters. From the pompous Cyrus Powell to the lovely Racey. We were treated to the... More
