My husband and I stayed at this place while checking out Denver for a possible relocation. The owner (Walt) and his wife (Julie) are fantastic hosts and were extremely professional and helpful. The mansion has been beautifully and lovingly restored by hand and their pride in their work shows. If you are looking for a unique experience with a personal... More

When first arriving it was very mysterious. The owner is very nice. The breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the valentine suite and it was just like saying in an old mansion. Problems: bathroom in a tiny closet then actual shower even smaller than the closet. There's a door to the bathroom closet and a shower curtain over the shower... More

I came from Philadelphia to Denver to visit friends. We always try to find something a little different to do. This was it. As soon as you walked in the beautiful mansion's parlor, you met the cast of the show. All were in "Character" and characters. From the pompous Cyrus Powell to the lovely Racey. We were treated to the... More

Visited Denver, just as the cold front hit the Northern Colorado area. The room was very comfortable and cozy. Little traffic to disturb the dreams. A short walk-about the area was pleasant. The hosts have done a lot to restore the home of the Lumber Baron and prepare an A1 breakfast. The rooms are on the 2nd floor, to which... More

My husband and I went to the Casino Heist Show and stayed the night in the Valentine Suite. The service was amazing and the room was beautiful! I couldn't have asked for more. Food during the dinner was tasty and presented beautifully! My husband and I opted for breakfast to be served to our room at 9 am and they... More

Before I start, let me say that the mansion was beautiful. I might be interested in staying in one of the rooms some day but cannot comment on that. I am commenting on the murder mystery. I am a performer and a lover of the arts and love murder mysteries. I have seen around ten of these shows and this... More

Thank you so much for the many kind words you wrote about the Lumber Baron, our mansion, and the murder mystery dinners that we host here. It's clear you loved the romantic charm and architecture that our 1890 bed and breakfast provides as a setting for overnight stays and the mystery dinners. And I'm glad to hear that you'd like... We spent three nights there and enjoyed every minute! Walter and Julie have done a great job of restoring this amazing mansion and making it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. The murder mystery dinner was so much fun! They really make an effort to get the entire crowd involved. Not only was the "mystery" part thoroughly entertaining, the... More

Beautiful and historic. The hosts were very informative and just a pleasure to meet! The food is absolutely amazing and worth the stay alone it seems! Close to downtown Denver so you have access to Denver's night life as well!

Food, entertainment and stay were great! The play was interactive and a new experience for us but really fun. The room was nice and the mansion so cool and we'll restored. Looking forward to the next stay!
