Charming, boutique hotel but be sure the owner, Susan, is going to be on property during your stay. She was away the night we were there. Went to the rooftop Jacuzzi at 9:30 pm to enjoy a soak, look at the stars and the spectacular view of the town and valley below under a full moon. There was a woman... More

first the good: the hotel is amazing, i love the personality, the roooms are like home. i travel and get so tired of box hotels. the bar is grewat. it was a wednesday, but it was open. it is close to downtown but not that close. the hill is easy going down but ask at the bar about ascending "heart... Our family went together and booked 4 of their 15 rooms. The rooms were clean with old world charm. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot and everything was clean. It felt more like staying in someone's home than a hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast is more than enough to get you out the... More

The Hotel St. Nicholas was originally the town's hospital and now converted to a small inn loaded with charm. Our party stayed in the separate Miner's Cabin, which had 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, dining room and sitting room. There was even a nice deck with a barbeque outside. Sitting out on that deck in the evening was a... More

This place is really nice, the beds are comfortable the decorating is notable as opposed to a chain hotel. It has modern comfort with an old fashioned atmosphere. Plenty of hot water good breakfast and the owner Susan will accommodate you with most anything she can help with. This is a quiet place with outside hot tub. There are shuttles... More

The place was quiet off the main street, and Susan the owner was very friendly and acomidating. There is a bar in the basement, and a decent continental breakfast in the mornings. Rates were very good and location was excellent. If you cant walk or drive they have shuttle service all over town. Excellent view as well. Do it!

We had a lovely time at the Hotel St. Nicholas staying in their miner's cottage. There is so much history in the area and the hotel was formerly a hospital operated by the Sisters of Mercy in the late 1800s. Beautiful building and the miner's cottage was well done, very comfortable, peaceful, well stocked kitchen, beautiful views - I could... More

If you've read other reviews on this place you already know that it's a renovated former hospital. From the outside it looks a little dark and creepy and the sign isn't well-lit, but on the inside it's bright and the rooms are cheerily decorated. It was clean and comfortable, and we stayed in a king room (#6). That room is... More

This was a super cool place to stay. My son and I were, admittedly, on a "ghost trip" staying at about 3 historical hotels in Colorado. This was our first stop and we were both charmed by this hotel. My room #16...a cute corner room with 3 big windows that opened. That night a thunderstorm came through and it was... More

Wow! What a cool hotel to stay at! This was a hospital built in 1898 and ran by the Catholic Church and ran by the sisters. The hostital was purchased and renovated in 1996 into a B & B. There are rumors of ghosts and tons of history are part of the charm and the folks running are very pleasant.... More
