We recently had the opportunity to stay at the San Moritz condos in Crested Butte in western Colorado during the Wildflower Festival. Crested Butte is a tiny mountain town (alt. 9000) with spectacular views and wildflowers. The condo is on a mountain above the town, is attractively appointed, very clean and pleasant, and the rates are reasonable. Condos are dog-friendly,... More

Best Dog Vacation Ever!!!! The San Moritz has dog friendly rooms; even have 'dog sheets' to put on the bed or sofa if your furry friend is used to being comfy. Easy access to 'potty places' outside. We were there during Wildflower Festival; so all the hikes we did were spectacular with flowers everwhere. Town of Crested Butte is very... More

Back for another fall stay in CB. The aspens were beautiful - like a golden blanket on the mountain sides! My family had two condos, one in the Jokerville bldg. and one in the Keystone bldg. - both had excellent views and spacious patios where we sat outside to enjoy the perfect weather and the views. Each unit had lawn... More

I stayed in San Moritz in June for 4 nights and was ready to leave after the first night. I was not impressed at all, but first the positive. The view was beautiful and the internet connection was OK. The place was specious and equipded with everything you need. But there was not enough daylight, the furniture where old, the... More

The San Moritz is a value oriented, family oriented and pet-friendly property. Our housekeeping staff strives to do a very thorough job of cleaning after each guest departure. On the rare occasion of an oversight, they will go back in and fix the problem. We were never given the opportunity to address the pet hair problem and also might have... More

We visited in September. The condo was nicely remodeled with high end finishes and very clean. We felt right at home. Of course these are condos, so each will vary. The major downside was no elevator, so carrying heavy stuff is a pain. The bed in master bedroom was quite uncomfortable (very firm) and the heating system creaked a lot,... More

Some of our owners have been able to update their units to various degree. Others need more time to do so primarily due to the fact that we did a major $3.8 million renovation to the exterior common areas of the four buildings in 2009/10 and the assessment for that project was significant. The remodel was only to the outside... More

Nice enough but dated. I see some units have been remodeled I suspect ours hasn't been done for a while. Could be better but good enough for us. No serious complaints. Stairs are demanding with big suitcases. Great views.

We had a great stay with our two little dogs; walk to the ski lifts for a boost up the mountain, or pick up a free shuttle into the quaint town of Crested Butte. Staff are friendly, the kitchens were well appointed for cooking away from home and the living spaces were clean and comfortable. Nice that there are no... More

My family has been coming to Crested Butte well before I was born and I've stayed at the San Moritz every time I've visited (30 years). A few years ago the San Moritz had a massive exterior remodel and many of the condo owners followed suit. The San Moritz has a great ski-in/out location and the near by lift stays... More

San Mortiz is a comfortable and convenient place to stay. The buildings themselves are somewhat dated, but they are in a convenient location to ski in and ski out. They also have all the things you need. I found it a little strange that there were not washer and dryer hookups in the 4 bedroom condo we stayed in, but... More
