I have had a cabin 5 miles back towards Boreas pass for 40 plus years. The special touch that made "roughin' it OK" was the Como depot hotel, and all the experiences that people refer to. This year there is a "closed" sign on the door (even though the highway signs still indicate food and lodging). The "general store" in... More

My wife and I much enjoyed our overnight at the B&B. The owner could not have been more accommodating. Fine, comfortable room with two big beds. Excellent overnighting location as we enjoyed the fall aspen colors.

Thank you David, for a good place to eat and stay the night. The B and B is perfect place to stay and eat. Pretty nice property. Nice view. The drive to Como was nice. The Como roundhouse is interesting.

Como is a one horse town on the "wrong" side of the Boreas Pass. The town grew up with a railway over the pass which no longer exists. The Como Depot has a great sense of history and a unique style. Exceptional hospitality is offered by the owner David, an Englishman who has somehow ended up in this remote spot.

We went to the Como Depot for dinner while staying in nearby Fairplay and wished we had stayed there instead! Our dinner was excellent and the staff was simply delightful and really made us feel at home. The building itself has been nicely restored and the surrounding landscape and views are beautiful. In all it was a wonderful experience and... More

We got married in the mountains near Fairplay and we were outside all day, so the comfort we got at the Como Depot, on such a special night, was all the more awesome. We got there pretty late but David waited up for us, found us something to eat (you never get to actually eat at your won wedding!) and... More

well, I'm a food snob and have lived in this area for years but have eaten in restaurants all over the world and never considered dining here. For years now I'd see lots of cars outside but again..being the food snob. It wasn't until a month ago a doctor of mine in colorado springs asked me where I was living... More

David and Moya were wonderful hosts! We loved our stay. David went out of his way to try and manage a third night for us. Wonderful personal contact. The rooms and the dining area were wonderfully decorated. I can't say enough good about the place!

We stayed for 6 nights at the Como Depot while enjoying activities in surrounding areas. David and Moya both went out of their way to help us feel at home in their B&B. Breakfast was amazing! Each morning our breakfast was different: blueberry pancakes, French toast, quiche, even a traditional English breakfast, and always fruit, bacon, coffee, tea and juice.... More
