Got in late but maintained good communication with Marianne, the owner. Gary, resident manager, security, and apparent bartender, met us and was a lot of fun. He helped get us settled in, helped with bags, and when I locked our mt. bikes up in the back, he covered them with a tarp. Very thoughtful. We stayed in the apartment room;... More

It's hard to believe we stayed at the same place as those who highly rate this place. When we arrived and saw the home and neighborhood we wanted to leave immediately but unfortunately had prepaid, so we decided to grin and bear it .Pros: The towels and sheets were clean. The deck view is nice. Cons: This is a small,... More

I was looking for a cool place to host from, in visiting my teenage kids in the Springs. The Portal's upstairs 2-bedroom unit was the perfect fit for me and my kids. Great location, close to downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City. Loved the friendly, fun groove at the Portal. Not stuffy, not formal... Could hardly make myself leave,... More

We were conned into making a reservation here. It is located in the middle of what appears to be a ghetto. Fortunately we arrived late. What we saw raised some serious concerns. First was the neighborhood which was very old with a lot of rundown houses. We had serious concerns about the security of our vehicle and its contents. Second,... More

A group of us from the UK embarked on an 1800 mile road trip, with one of our stops being in Colorado Springs. When we arrived at a hotel we had booked over 12 months ago we were told they had released our rooms 10 prior to our arrival and wouldn't help with any alternatives. I quickly got onto a... More

As a writer, I found Mystic Portal to be a peaceful oasis of inspiration. Set tucked away in a quiet spot up high with views to die for, we were blown away. Marianne(the Innkeeper) went all out on breakfast, linens, ambiance, entertainment and concierge. I wish this was the Hotel California and i could never leave.

I made a reservation for a place to stay what I got was so much more. Marianne is one of those trully caring people you can't help but like. Selfless service from a very genuine hostess. The house keeping was maticulus but all done behind the scene so it did not interfere with the serenity of the "Mystic Portal Experience".... More

If you need a break from life go to Colorado Springs and stay at the Mystic Portal Bed and Breakfast. I stayed with Marianne for three days and I left feeling very rested! The vacation was truly a wonderful experience and I look forward to going back in the spring. Susan Owen

Mystic Portal is a wonderful place to stay! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and it was a fantastic getaway. Very quiet and the beds are comfortable. The hot tub and view of the mountains are an added bonus to such a great place. Would definitely recommend staying here.
