The Grand Mesa is INCREDIBLE! Everyone should see the amazing vistas and spend time admiring the natural beauty. However, this review is about the Spruce Lodge. We have actually stayed at the Spruce Lodge three times. After this last time, we will not be back.
There was not one main thing that turned us off, but instead, a myriad of little things:
Another reviewer mentioned the "rules" and gosh, there really are a ton of them: don't do this, none of this, don't touch, don't use, don't enjoy, you're awful if you do this and so on. It just sends the wrong message.
It also seems they have really missed the boat on service. There's a lack of attentiveness, especially at the rate you pay for a cabin. The owners are rarely there, leaving the service up to what seems like a very nice, but inexperienced staff.
