Don't tell anybody but Grand Mesa Lodge is a great place to stay. Mike and Rose are the best kind of hosts: there when you need them and not there when you don't. The cabins are old, rustic and well appointed with the things you need while you are there. Furnished with all you need for cooking and eating. Island... More

My mother-in-law is friends with the hosts and arranged for us to stay at the lodge. We were in cabin 13 that was built from trees on the property in the 1920's and it was really nice. The area is beautiful and peaceful. Great place to go and unplug. We had a problem with altitude sickness. I had trouble breathing... More

Cabin 11 enjoys great views of Island Lake and the nearby mountains of Southern Colo as well as the San Juan Mtns near Telluride. Very cool furniture made from local tree trunks and wood adds to the charm. Wifi available in the main lodge if you REALLY need to check in on your getaway. Year round activities from snowmobiling to... More

We stayed for a winter weekend getaway and enjoyed having miles and miles of snowy wilderness at our disposal. The hosts were fantastically friendly and very easy to work with (easy to book, let us change our dates with a few week's notice, gave us a late checkout with no hassle, let us add two people to one night of... Wonderful location with amazing hosts: Mike and Rose have a fantastic set up with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Cabins have so much character and very comfortable, no TV but who needs it with so much beauty outside your door. Snow abounds with plenty of snowmobiles to play with! Highly recommend getting up for an early morning sunrise!

Our stay at the lodge was the first night on a three day adventure through the mountains. I had previously visited the area about a month prior to our adventure and was not sure if my schedule would ever allow me to return. When I found out that I would be in the area I was extremely happy to find... More

This was exactly the type of place my friends and I were looking for. Lots of character. Even though our cabin had just been updated it still had it's character from the 1950s? It's very basic. A bit rustic. It really is a cabin. No time for TV or Wifi, but has everything else you need. Please don't ever change,... More

My 18 and 14 year old sons were driving cross country and looking for a beautiful place to stay. 5 miles out from the lodge, they rolled the car into an embankment and were physically unharmed but the car was totaled. They called us, I called the lodge, and Mike answered. It brings tears to my eyes just writing this.... More

We were on the last day of a vacation for Spring Break and our plan for snowmobiling fell through. We stopped by Grand Mesa Lodge and they were very accommodating with us to make a last minute plan to snowmobile with them. They made sure we all had the right gear and made us feel right at home. We love... More

We went to Grand Mesa Lodge for an afternoon of snowmobiling. Initially we were going to go independent, but then decided to join Mike's guided tour. We were apprehensive to join a guided group (even though we are just beginners) because we didn't want to be stuck in a group that went maximum 15 mph for the whole 3 hours--ugh!... More
