This KOA is one of the better ones we've seen; we appreciate BRB's desire to offer a KOA campground that exceeds minimum standards. As for location, it's just the right distance from the hubbub of Carbondale and Glenwood Springs, yet only a short drive to a restaurant or espresso. It's convenient to Aspen as well.

We just completed a two week stay at this KOA. We booked an RV spot a couple of months in advance and chose this spot specifically for the river front sites. We paid for a deluxe riverfront site and that is what we got, however although the river was there, we could not see it and had to walk through... More

This place was such a disappointment. We were assigned the cabin right by the office, which is ALSO by the pool and highway. It was very loud. Don't be fooled, this place is not a wilderness location. Also, there were no chairs around our firepit and the fan didn't work, so we reported this to the office worker. She seemed... More

We made our reservation way in advanced of our stay and received the last deluxe cabin with bathroom. We knew that there would be a lot of tourist to the area. We obtain our key to cabin 8 which was cute from the outside and sits on the Crystal river. When I opened the door I cut my hand on... More

This is our first experience in a KOA. We stayed in a log cabin by the river. The cabin had a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. There was a queen size bed with linens and a dining table. There was a picnic table and a fire ring outside our cabin. Our cabin door was facing the river which we... More

I so enjoyed my time at BRB. Studio cabin clean and comfortable and right on the Crystal River. Grounds well taken care of and it is a hot little birding spot. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I travel alone with my 2 dogs. I felt very safe and it was a great place to walk my dogs and enjoy nature.... More

They seem to be working hard to make improvements at this campground. The name has now changed to Carbondale/Crystal River KOA. The shower house is now complete. There is a small shower and a larger handicapped shower in both the men's and the women's. Passcodes are required. They made sure we knew not to give it to anyone that asks.... More

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend in a tent on a river site. Very happy with site, large enough for big tent and plenty of room to park truck. Each site has fire ring (with cooking grate) and a picnic table. Brand new bathhouse was nice (however, stairs on the north end would make it easier to access for those... More

A wonderful week was spent here in our self-contained RV. We had a nice premium pull -thru site with a concrete patio and picnic table. Environment was clean, neat with a beatiful new bathhouse nearby. No sewer sites are available as yet but a honey wagon can be arranged if you are there more than 4 days. Tent sites need... More

Spent two weeks at this site, and this is my take. They have a few cement pads close to the river for self-contained which are nice. The site is 1950-1960's cabins with weeks of tree pruning and weed removal still needed. The new owner has had it for 1.5 years and is working to remodel. The tent sites are over-grown... More
