This is an excellent ranch that I had the pleasure of staying at for 4 days. I was on a girls trip and our experience was so wonderful. They have paid attention to every little detail. The hot springs are nice and small and with different temperatures. It is open to the public for certain hours per day. You must... More

We stayed for 4 nights at the Avalanche Ranch from June 24 through June 27 2015, and were SO pleased. It is the most gorgeous setting with the mountains surrounding the cabins and the sound of the the Avalanche Creek just across the road. There are 3 hot spring pools only a short walk away, so after a full day... More

My grandpa found this little place. It's about 1/2 hour outside the busy Glenwood Springs. It's got several cabins, off site ranch houses and shepherds wagons. It's got it's own hot spring pools (small but nice) with varying temperatures. There's a small fishing pond a short distance from the cabins and a lodge that's open 24 hours with books, ping... I travel all over Colorado searching out hot springs. Avalanche Ranch IS the best I have found for the "Complete Rustic Nirvana" experience. Impeccably clean, maintained, and appointed throughout the entire place both indoors and out. The whole place is chocked full of charm and things to do like antiquing, animal farm, boating on a pond, fishing (they stock it,... More

My wife and I have been to a lot of different hot springs throughout Colorado and New Mexico and this is one of the best. This was our first time to Avalanche Ranch and we will certainly be back. Beautiful view of the mountains, trails nearby, a trout pond, a small lodge, farm animals to see, a gift shop, great... More

A beautifully peaceful and serene getaway set in the stunning rocky mountains. We stayed in the Shepherds Wagon which was perfect in every way. Stylish, extremely clean and wonderfully quirky. Home made cookies on arrival made the place feel like a home from home. The hot pools are AMAZING, exceptionally relaxing and again the changing rooms and pools areas were... More

Cabins are very rustic, but cute. The hot springs are the calling card...and are nice. There are 3 different temperatures from which to choose. We just stayed a night to enjoy the pools and took a hike the next day. Beautiful location. Farm type atmosphere. No dining on premises so if you don't want to cook in your cabin you... More

We stayed in a cabin that was off site from the ranch about 5 miles (Gamekeepers Lodge). The lodge was amazing and well appointed. We had a girls weekend here and enjoyed day trips, and evenings in the hot tub or at the springs. The hot springs themselves were very nice. The pools were very clean, and not too busy.... More

We visited in winter season but the weather was more springlike. The location is a bit undiscovered and remote, which was a positive for much needed getaway. The cabins were well maintained and cozy. With a full kitchenette and heated by a gas wood stove, you get the camp feel, without the smoke. If you want to grill, they are... More

Family run operation with rustic cabins, many with wood-burning stoves. The thermal pools are excellent and provide great relaxation before or after a day of outdoor activities. We have only been in winter, but our cabin was quiet, quiet, quiet. Very nice.
