5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Getting here is rough, but it's worth it. We drove from Monteverde and the road was very bumpy. The lodge is open air and surrounded by tons of gorgeous tropical plants. The bungalow was spacious, with tall ceilings, a gorgeous canopy bed, porch in the jungle, and outdoor shower. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there, so our... More

We were lucky to find this boutique, eclectic, hideaway hotel through TripAdvisor for one night and liked it so much, we stayed another! The staff was amazing and the food was really good. Most everyone on staff referred to us by first name and made sure to accommodate us in every way. We drove to the national park (Tenorio) even... More

The Blue River we had to see. Rio Celeste looked like it was close and really really nice. We were greeted by Felix with cold hand towels to refresh and then checked in with smiles. Felix whisked us off to our room in the golf cart as the hotel is on a large parcel of stunning gardens. The rooms are... More

Getting here is not straight-forward, we drove from Arenal through Monterrey and the last 30 kilometres of the road was not great. You definitely need a 4X4. However, don't let this put you off, the Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel is simply MAGICAL. Situated in the middle of the rainforest, you begin to realise quickly where the "rain" in the word... More

A very nice hotel with warm atmosphere but without heating which in the heavy rain is not the best. The forest arround is very nice. The road to the hotel is for a hard man ☺. The living in the area means be prepare for a rain anytime 😕

Beautiful Resort. Beautiful grounds and Koi pond next to lobby. Beautiful spacious rooms - loved the outdoor shower and the covered patio. Food was fabulous and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the resident coatimundi (Pancheeto) that comes to share your breakfast (excluding pinnapple). The hiking trail down to the river is very scenic and the river is beautiful - that milky blue... I have stayed at many hotels in Costa Rica on about 10 different trips- this one is beautiful and an amazing escape from the 'norm'. The 'rooms' are individual bungalows that are huge and beautiful- as others have mentioned. We found the food to be delicious and better than 'standard CR fare', but not inexpensive. The staff are lovely and... More

This hotel is located 1mile away from Volcán Tenorio Nacional Park main entrance to Rio Celeste. There you can walk to the unique blueish waterfall and to Tellideros where the coloring of the river originates. You are not allowed to swin in the park but the hotel has an onsite trail that leads to the river. That was the main... More

Our family of four was in Guancaste for a week and choose to spend one night here on our way back to San Jose. I wish we would have stayed an extra day or two. The last part of the drive to get to Rio Celeste Hideway, maybe 6 km or so was for four wheel drive vehicles only, wow... More

We only stayed two nights here and would have happily stayed longer. Arriving after the worst road we had experienced so far in Costa Rica it was mind blowing to pull up to this superb establishment. Superb suite with a balcony right in the forest, a walkway down to the Rio Celeste and fabulous grounds. Food and drink unimpeachable with... More
