If you are planning to visit Rio Caleste, you must stay here!!! Super close from the park, great pool area, very comfortable rooms, very romantic, good restaurant (not wow but not bad) hiking trail to the river, full of nature... Recommended for birds and nature lovers!

Great for one or two nights. Beautiful setting. 5 minutes from the entrance to the Volcan Tenorio Park/Río Celeste, which is beautiful and totally worth the drive from San Jose (4 hours) and the 3 hours (6 kms, 600+ steps, muddy hike). The hotel has great rooms, very good food, nice atmosphere, great pool to relax in after the hike.... More

Yes it may mean taking a long drive on unpleasant roads commonly found in Costa Rica, but once you get there you're in an incredibly romantic spot. But remember, you are in the rainforest -- so beware of poisonous snakes (we encountered a Coral snake -- 20 minutes and you're dead) on the way to the pool; and you're clothes... More

We drove from San Jose up to Rio Celeste. The drive was great, the best bit being the track up to Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel. On arrival we could park right next to the main, open air entrance. A guy called Juan Paulo helped us with our bags and put these into a golf buggy to drive round to our... More

nice place to spend a couple of nights. we just came back from spending a night over there after visiting Rio Celeste river. what an amazing service, extremely friendly staffing always looking to help. great food, great massage (spa), and mojitos in the pool's bar were delicious. looking forward to go back.

The road to Rio Celeste Lodge was almost enough to deter us from reaching the lodge. After we turned off the paved highway we entered the true meaning of rural routes. That road could have been labeled an obstacle course and no one would contest the label. When we finally arrived at the lodge we found that it was all... More

I can't wait to come back! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly staff member with fruity welcome drinks. What a treat after the bumpy ride. Glad we were prepared with a 4 wheel drive rental. Our room was lovely and had a fabulous bathroom. The indoor shower was by far the best I've encountered in... More

This region of the country is not as commonly visited as many others, but there is so much to do. This hotel is very well located for all of this, and they facilitate all of the tours to their guests (at a higher cost, as expected). The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice, though most don't... More

Spent two nights at this hotel this week and it really exceeded our expectations. The service is what stood out. As we arrived, the front desk had cold towels and a beverage waiting for us. From that point on, all of the employees knew our names and went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. The room was... More

The staff were very kind and friendly. They made our stay lovely. I will name two staff in particular, Pablo and Mauricio. I think the management could be improved. They offer things for special occasions, we informed them about my partner's birthday but nothing happened. I really think that the good rate is because of the staff who do their... More
