Great location & we really liked the privacy each room had. Great kitchen very well stocked with cooking supplies. One of the bathroom upstairs did not work the shower & the commode didn’t work & it only had hot water in the sink. . This was a huge problem. They came out & looked at the bathroom but was unable to resolve the problem. Apparently this bathroom not working is a chronic problem. We had 14 people in our group & we needed that bathroom in working order bad, especially since it was up stairs. Had we known that one bathroom did not work the or there was a good possibility it would not work. We would not have stayed there. The place was great other than the bathroom not working & the fireplace in the livingroom didn’t work. I would go back if we had less people in our group. But for a group of 14 it didn’t work well for us. We are planning our trip next year & we are expecting 10 people in our group next year. This place would work great for a group of 10 or less. The cost to rent it doubled from this year to next year. We felt like for what we paid & a group of t10 would be fine. But absolutely not worth the money they are charging for 2024.

it was ok ~ nothing special, the food was ok. Again nothing special or tasty or memorable The inn keepers were not overly friendly. Never ever got to talk to them or get to them them at all. Very " cool " I would say. the room was just average, totally nothing special and not memorable I have stayed in many BnB's and this one was so un-remarkable; it is easily forgettable except for the location, it was good for walking down the hill to town. But it was hard to walk around at 10,000 feet when one comes from sea level so keep that in mind when you are hoofing it up and down these hills. It was .. interesting and I consider myself somewhat fit. Altitude sickness can be a problem here in these Rocky Mountains

Pretty nice spot. Location is great, 2 blocks from Main Street. Kinda strange they don’t allow shoes inside. There’s also a house dog so beware if you have allergies. I don’t think the dog is allowed in the rooms though. Didn’t have breakfast but it smelled good. Room was clean, large with a great view. Bathroom was tiny but not that big of deal.

Nice place located conveniently in downtown area. Nice options for breakfast, including a nice bowl of fruit. Emma makes cookies for all in the afternoon. Parking can be a challenge on Saturday afternoons.

Emma and Niels, gracious hosts. Emma has a great smile! Niels greeted us at the door as we slipped off our shoes, munched on great cookies as he checked us in then settled into our room. The bed is comfortable. You feel like you're at home by the warm welcome and care in demonstrating how everything works. A few blocks from Main street we slowly made our way to the restaurant of choice, stopping to peek into shops along the way. Back at our cozy room, we decided to take a hot tub then off to bed. Breakfast! Coffee on the table and jams. A delightful choice Tex Mex Scramble with hash browns, toast OR Blueberry Pancakes w/Blueberry Syrup OR the standard eggs (any way you like) bacon, hash browns, bacon. (sorry no pics, gobbled everything before I realized I could've taken a pic!) Generous portions by the way! It was a delightful overnight stay. I'm sure we'll return since we live in Colorado. Be sure to treat yourself to this lovely experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Abbett Placer Inn recently for 2 nights to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. Within walking distance of Main Street, so many restaurants and shops, and grand views of the ski hill where, in our younger days, we frequently skied. Our room was the Miner's Shaft -- oh so quiet, oh so comfortable. Niels and Emma, the owners and hosts supreme, were helpful in so many ways. Their fun-loving dog, in his own way, made us feel welcome (we think he saw us as good targets for some playful moments). Emma's breakfasts were fantastic (if you're there when she serves cheesy sausage scramble, consider yourselves lucky), and afternoon "tea" always included fresh cookies and ice tea. There are also a public kitchenette and hot tub available, should you have a need for either -- we didn't, but the fact that they are thoughtfully there was impressive.

My husband and I came up to Breckenridge just for a little get away, and the Abbett Placer Inn was perfect for what we needed. The owners were so friendly and accommodating, and gave us great advice about our trip. Breakfasts and cookies were so yummy and we felt spoiled every morning. Also, the B&B is located in a super convenient location, we walked everywhere we needed to go. We will definitely be back!

If you're a foodie looking for a centrally located, homely (in the British sense!), comfortable place to chill in Breck, I can't imagine you could do better than Abbett Placer. Emma and Niels (and their sweet, quirky dog, Jade) were lovely hosts, gracious and respectful of privacy, and I cannot stress this enough: a dynamic duo in the kitchen. Between the breakfasts (think pumpkin waffles with orange-walnut butter and proscuitto-asparagus-cheese-etc. omelets) and the apres treats (I still dream of the chocolate-cherry meringue cookies and lemon-poppy bread!), my husband and I easily left a few pounds heavier--and happier--than we'd come. With great recs from Emma and Niels on places to go (South Ridge Seafood Grill and the Boreas Pass tops among them), a soft bed, a pristine bathroom with quality bath products (BYO conditioner, fellow curlies), and a cozy hot tub, we also left significantly more relaxed. A couple notes: We stayed in the Settlers Saloon, which had a small step up to the snug shower-and-toilet room, with the sink in the bedroom. There was a useful little enclosed vestibule before the bedroom proper that allowed storage of parkas, suitcases, and the lot, and had a mini fridge as well. Also, boot trays for sloppy, snowy footwear are kept at the inn's entrance and there's a locked outdoor storage shed for snowboards and skis--so you never have to worry about stepping in someone else's boot or gear puddles. Brilliant!

I'm not sure that I have anything new to say that previous reviewers' did not say, but I do feel the need to add my voice because our stay was just lovely and deserves the recognition! My husband and I did a long weekend in Breckenridge and the Abbett Placer Inn worked out perfectly for us! We didn't alpine ski, so I can't comment on convenience for that, but we did nordic ski and it's a very short drive from the Inn to the Nordic Center. And we hung out downtown quite a bit - this inn is a great location to walk 2 short blocks to Main Street. And it's located in the historic area, so just walking around the neighborhood made for a pleasant experience. You can dine at any of the excellent restaurants downtown, not worry about how many glasses of wine you have, and walk back easily! They have parking at the inn for free - just a $20 cash deposit to ensure that you return the parking pass. Breakfasts are fantastic! There is always an option for eggs/hash browns/bacon, and then a special breakfast option (like eggs scrambled with chorizo, or lemon poppyseed pancakes). And a bowl of fresh fruit salad with every breakfast. I believe they also have cereal and oatmeal if you prefer that...but then why would you stay at a lovely B&B? They put out coffee and tea in the afternoon with a baked goody of some sort and wow can they bake! Chocolate cherry almond meringues were to-die-for! The proprietors are very friendly, always happy to answer questions, give directions, provide recommendations, etc. Yes, you do have to take off your shoes when you first walk in. If you had seen the slushy snowy weather we had for part of our visit, you would understand why! We stayed in the Settlers Saloon, on the first floor. The room was on the small side, but cozy, with several windows which was nice. The bathroom was small, but just fine for us. There was an entry way to our room with LOTS of storage which was actually pretty ingenious. We'd like to stay here again in the summer - I bet it's a great place to stay when you want to go hiking all day and then hang out on Main Street all evening!
