We stayed at the Boulder Chautauqua Cottages for one night during the first week in Feb. When a friend heard I was going there, she said I would wish I had stayed longer, and that was the absolute truth! This is a wonderful historic property with Chautauqua owned lodging interspersed with privately owned cottages. It is located in a very... More

The staff is very accommodating. I was able to book a cabin as I rolled into town as my original plans my fell through. It was dark when I arrived, and mid November. The cabin was warm and very comfortable. The surprise was the incredible view as I woke up to walk my dog early the next morning. The mountains... More

I was impressed with the reservation staff, the clean accommodations, the fully equipped kitchen and excellent bed/mattress. We were in am efficiency which did lack a comfortable chair. There were stools to eat on the counter and a table on the porch- we moved it inside since it was cold. The grounds are great for walking particularly with dogs.

This was certainly a different sort of holiday. Perfect base for hiking. It was hard to believe how close we were to the main shopping area too. The food in the dining hall was excellent and the people very friendly. For us it was the perfect place to stay, much nicer than staying in an impersonal hotel.

We loved staying here in our little one bedroom cabin with tiny kitchen, screened in porch and living room. It is a wonderful spot at the base of the flatirons and perfect access for the hiking trails. Had great breakfast every morning on the porch of the dining hall. Loved reading about the history here. You can even walk to... More

The double beds are tiny. You'd have to be a small couple to fit them. The wi-fi doesn't work in the cold. Yes. That's right. The cold affects the wifi. In Boulder, Colorado. Frustrating to deal with the staff who were completely unhelpful. Much better value to be found in Airbnbs around town.

This is a very nice retro summer-campish place to stay (retro = 1950s-1960s, though the buildings I think are older). However, occupying a cottage is a little complicated, and my recommendation is -- really -- to read the instruction sheet they give you when you get there. I didn't (who reads manuals?), and it took me a couple days to... More

The beautiful campus of Colorado Chautauqua has cottages and a lodge with studio rooms (at least ours was) that include a kitchenette. We stayed at Columbine lodge, room C-1. It had a full bed (and I understand the rooms all do), table and three chairs, and a chest of drawers, small bathroom with small vanity and shower, no bath (the... More

My husband and I, with our two young kids, stayed in 401 for a few days over summer. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Having a kitchen was great. The location is close to several grocery stores and Alfalfa's even delivers. We had several good local restaurant recommendations but mostly opted to eat at the beautiful Dining Hall.... More

A throwback to a simpler, family-centered time. We loved it. Like visiting a sweet little town with the Flatirons at your doorstep. We had a studio apt. that suited us perfectly. Some of the cabins can hold large families. The dining room serves delicious breakfast.
