This was our 7th summer vacation at Elk Point Lodge! We love the place and feel it is our 2nd home! Highlights for us include horseback riding with Pete and Beth - two outstanding wranglers who know the horses and ensure we always have a safe and thoroughly enjoyable ride through the beautiful San Juan Forest! The owners, Lark and... More

We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was very friendly. Cabin 4 was fun & comfortable. The lake was beautiful. It is a short 8 hour drive from Phoenix. There are some good restaurants close by or get groceries first & stock up your own kitchen.

Elk Point Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy some peace and quiet on Lake Vallecito! JR and Lark could not be more accommodating and will do everything they can to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Make sure you take advantage of the kayaks and canoe that are available to you at no charge and ask about the Vallecito... More

My spouse and I stayed here as part of a family reunion. - Cabins are not updated/safe and need significant maintenance during stay - Grassy area is not graded or flat - Difficult for a wheelchair user or someone with limited mobility and none of the cabins are even close to ADA compliant. We were in Cabin 8. The first... More

This is my fourth trip to the lake in the last 15 years. We always stay at the Elk Point Lodge. First let me state that there is no phone, TV, Wi-Fi or air conditioning at the cabin. Your cell phone reception is adequate and all of the aforementioned items are available at the lodge. (I am not sure about... More

We happened to get a cabin last-minute for the 4th of July due to a cancellation. Lark, the proprietor, was very friendly though not always available because she was so busy. Cabin #1 was cute & right next to the lake. It very super clean & had obviously been refurbished recently, but it was still a crooked little cabin. The... More

Elk Point Lodge was the perfect place for our family reunion! We had 12 children and 9 adults. The ages ranged from 2 to 91. It was perfect for all ages! The large grassy area with a giant picnic table was a great connection to all the cabins. The kids played all day long and we didn't worry about them... More

We went to the lodge in October and were afraid there wouldn't be much to do off season. When we arrived, we were also dismayed when we found out our cabin had no television set, and the thought of spending time in a cabin with two kids with no television scared the mess out of us! To our wonderful surprise,... More

We were looking for a relaxing retreat from the world for the weekend and that is exactly what we found at Elk Point! Upon arrival to Vallecito we were more than shocked at the lake level, however after meeting Lark we quickly felt good again. After checking in and she was showing us where our cabin was she noticed my... More

Well, Lark and JR Kokesh and all their team have done it again!!! We had another fabulous stay at Elk Point Lodge! Lark and JR make you feel like family and welcome you "home" when you arrive. We were blessed to get to stay in their newest cabin, the Hummingbird Cottage. All we can say is WOW!!! It was fabulous... More
