Situated directly on the Frying Pan River this older motel makes for an ideal location for anglers. The rooms are clean and recently updated. Be sure to ask for a room on the river. The other rooms front on the parking lot. Adjacent to Riverside Grill (great bar) and world class Taylor Creek Fly Shop. Rooms come with a very... More

Typical motel. Room was clean and a good value, especially when you consider the rates in Snowmass and Aspen. Continental breakfast was ok. If you have an hour, be sure to take the historic walking tour.

Clean, friendly, and reasonable price. Great access to Basalt restaurants (on foot) and bus routes to skiing. Good breakfast (oatmeal, boiled eggs, bananas, sugary cereal and bagels). Small hot tub but hotel wasn't busy so it didn't matter.

When we can't find an accommodation in Snowmass Village, we usually stay down in Carbondale or Glenwood Springs. This past weekend we decided to try out the Aspenalt Lodge in Basalt. What a great little gem! Our room was spacious, very clean and the Riverside Grill is across the parking lot which was very convenient. If you are looking for... More

We have been staying at this motel on the Frying Pan River for the last 15 years when we head to Basalt to fish the Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers. It is one of the cleanest motels you will find anywhere and within walking distance to a number of good restaurants. The motel does not have air conditioning but you... More

Very clean and well located, walk to everything...Beautiful river front hotel, get ground floor river front for extra value and local atmosphere. Staff is very nice and friendly, housekeeping is wonderful this place is so clean you won't notice that it is an older hotel that is updated and is better than others have said. We go to Basalt several... More

Decent property on banks of Frying Pan River. Older buildings, but well-maintained. Included breakfast when we stayed there. Rooms a bit cramped, but we had five of us in one double room with rollaway. Easy parking.

We stayed here for one night in September. We had planned to bicycle from Basalt to Carbondale on the Rio Grande Trail. The manager let us check in around noon, so we could leave our car in their lot and put our suitcases in our room, and we started our bicycle trip right from the motel's parking lot -- we... More

We've stayed here 2 years in a row as an alternative to the expensive and tiresome routines of Aspen. For us, the easy and pretty 20-25 minute ride from Basalt for the music festivals, a meal or other activities in Aspen is an easy commute and Basalt is closer to Redstone, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs than from Aspen. As for... More
