We have been staying at this motel on the Frying Pan River for the last 15 years when we head to Basalt to fish the Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers. It is one of the cleanest motels you will find anywhere and within walking distance to a number of good restaurants. The motel does not have air conditioning but you... More

Very clean and well located, walk to everything...Beautiful river front hotel, get ground floor river front for extra value and local atmosphere. Staff is very nice and friendly, housekeeping is wonderful this place is so clean you won't notice that it is an older hotel that is updated and is better than others have said. We go to Basalt several... More

Decent property on banks of Frying Pan River. Older buildings, but well-maintained. Included breakfast when we stayed there. Rooms a bit cramped, but we had five of us in one double room with rollaway. Easy parking.

We stayed here for one night in September. We had planned to bicycle from Basalt to Carbondale on the Rio Grande Trail. The manager let us check in around noon, so we could leave our car in their lot and put our suitcases in our room, and we started our bicycle trip right from the motel's parking lot -- we... More

We've stayed here 2 years in a row as an alternative to the expensive and tiresome routines of Aspen. For us, the easy and pretty 20-25 minute ride from Basalt for the music festivals, a meal or other activities in Aspen is an easy commute and Basalt is closer to Redstone, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs than from Aspen. As for... More

These people are so cheap that they have outdated TVs and outdated TV shows (reruns) as well as an outdated computer in the lobby with a chair that sits about 15" off the ground. The computer is so slow it hardly works at all. Their equipment is laughable. The housekeeping didn't come until 3pm, and only if you happen to... More

We've been staying at this small motel in Basalt for over 20 years. The recent remodel of the rooms gives the property a fresh updating. Although the rooms are still a basic motel style, they are clean and fresh. Basic breakfast is included in room price. Be sure to ask for a room on the river side, ground level so... More

I have been staying at this hotel for over 25 years, my dad would take me and my brother to the area to fly fish, so many memories. Get a room on the river if you can next to the hot tub, many a great afternoon sat in that hot tub, watching the river roll by tellign old fishing tales,... More

Night clerk polite, staff responded well to battery low beeping from my fire detector. Property is tucked behind other businesses, weakly signed, and hard to find on a dark rainy night. Riverside Grill is right there for easy dining, but walk a block and look for the Two Rivers Cafe and Bar if you have the energy. My rate of... More

I booked lodging at the Aspenalt Lodge through hotels.com. Hotels.com said there are no charges. Aspenalt had a 48 hour cancellation policy. I cancelled several days prior to the 48 hours. I was charged an inter-net booking fee. I called the hotel and told it was an inter-net booking fee. I emailed hotels.com and was told it was a hotel... More
