Ok, it was only $50 for the night, but it was the dirtiest room we've ever been in. The carpet seriously looked like someone had been working on engines in the room. There were bugs in the room. The soap was the size of a quarter. There were no 3 prong outlets. If you drop anything in the shower you... More

Quiet, clean and affordable. Great place for birders on a budget. The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge is only about 15 min away from the hotel. Front desk is helpful with maps and suggestions for places to eat in Willows.

What a great place! Popular in the 1950s and still popular today. Our neice learned to swim in that pool 50+ years ago. The owner, Pratima, has everything in Pristine condition from the paint on the walls, fresh linens, weel manicured grounds and always a B-I-G Smile. We encourage our friends and family to spend the night here whenever in... More

We love privately owned small motels and a lot of times they are hidden gems. Not this time. Price was right but that was about it. They say kitchenette but there were no utinsels etc. Went to borrow or get some from front desk and they only wanted to part with 2 paper plates and we needed 4. The kitchenette... More

I both liked and disliked the Blue Gum, it's that kind of place. It has a very 60's motor court feel to it probably because when time stood still there. It's on rarely traveled stretch of hiway 99 a couple of miles off the well traveled I-5 which now has almost all of the motels and leaving most places like... More

Stay here for the gorgeous full-sized pool surrounded by a big lawn and shade trees! I brought my favorite folding lounge chair and several books and hardly moved for four days. It's perfect for a summer get away. The rooms are just so-so but it's great to have your own microwave and refrig. The price is really reasonable and it's... More

This is a pretty little motel just off the 99 Highway and close to Willows. I loved the 60's feel of the U shaped courtyard and pristine pool in the middle. It's quiet, clean and charming. You can't beat the rates at around $60 a night, depending on how many beds. Bring the family and spend the evening around the... More

We found this a quite place in the middle of eucalyptus trees from which it gets it name. We awoke to the sounds of birds not traffic - well worth the short drive into Willows. It is located between the Farm Sanctuary and Sacramento Wildlife Reserve: both worth visiting. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This used to be a stopover for us on our way south from Portland every year during the 1905s and 60s, prior to the days of Interstate 5. Not much has changed, except for us. Clearly our standards for hotels are higher than they were back then, but we still enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are clean and the... More

This motel is a great deal. We have stayed in many inexpensive places and they are often dumps, but the Blue Gum Motel exceeded all of our expectations. It was one of the most quiet stays I've had in a long time, and the place was very clean and very comfortable.
