Fell head over heels in love with this place and its people. The castle is amazing, and has so much history, and the views are everything you imagine the Tuscan hills to be. The staff are all friendly and helpful but more than that they welcome you into the castle family with generosity and warmth. The accommodation is either rooms... More

Staff is helpful and can speak multiple languages. They can help you find the right bus or train. First time I stayed over seas in a hotel. No hair dryers in the room. It will only get cleaned when you leave and you are charged a cleaning fee. Bring warm clothes to wear. Restaurant below the hotel is pretty good.

The restaurant, the views, the people, all incredible. Loved every moment there! Would be an excellent place for a trip with friends or family. Hope to visit again someday. Not a typical hotel but rather self serve apartments. In a beautiful small town surrounded by vineyards. You'll need a car to get around easily and the mosquitoes can be a... More

What could be better! The grounds were beautiful, the scenery was amazing, and our suite was very spacious but cozy. I was expecting it to be rustic, cold and run down from other reviewers comments but it was perfect! Can not wait to go again!

This place was actually better than advertised. We were pleasantly surprised at the very large, spacious, high ceiling, clean rooms. Great view from the common lanai, great atmosphere and grounds. Just a short walk through the olive groves and vineyards to the village and really good pastries for breakfast and an okay restaurant in the village or lunch. The staff... More

We are staying in the Castle of Montegufino in Tuscany. Great experience to savour the history of living in an eight hundred year old majestic building. Our room is a one bed suite on the upper level called Capella and its a quaint room with original fixtures and has a great view of the Tuscan valley below. The bar and... More

Some might call it quaint, I call it run down. We had a large 2 bedroomed suite. Beds were comfortable but not enough blankets. Rooms were cold as there was no heat in April. Asked for it to be turned on we were told to ask the owner!? He lived in Florence. You are advised to bring all necessary food... More

The Castello allowed us to experience Tuscany and its beauty up close and personal. The owners managed to balance modern amenities with the ancient castle, and the harmony works for anyone willing to forego the dullness of today's modern hotel stay. Yes, it is very chilly inside those thick stone walls of the castle, but we slept in two sets... More

Just returned from a week stay at the castle. We found our 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage to be wonderful. Everything was very clean & comfortable. The castle and grounds are like stepping back into another time. Don't expect daily maid service and amenities like some hotels, but if you want a tranquil, relaxing place with beautiful views and close... More

Did this trip last year with 3 friends! Had the best time of my life!! We explored the castle, grounds, town and even took the horse ride from a local man with horse drawn wagon, and interpreter, from our castle to another – which was so relaxing! Then off on our own adventures! We visited Florence, Pisa, Livornio, Cinque Terra,... More
