Saluti! My husband and I went on our first trip to Italy in April 2013. We stayed at Castello di Montegufoni for 7 days. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We read the information sent to us by Great Value Vacations and on travel websites, stating the differences in travel in the USA and Italy. The Castle is old world, and that... More

We stayed at Montegufoni 5 times in the 1980s. Four times we had the Galleria - and were allowed to sleep in the Severini room. Read ALL of Osbert Sitwell's books! Frank Magro was still living there. The villagers spoke about the English milord. Everything was perfect and close enough to get the bus into Firenze - and be home... More

Great experience and loved the location. Great place to do lots of day trips and not have to move every day. We did a different day trip each day and easy to navigate with GPS. We did not get a GPS when we got the car in Rome; however, went to Hertz in Florence to get one and really could... More

The castle is beautiful and the views are gorgeous, but you don't have to pay to stay here to see it! They don't clean, but charge you a cleaning fee to stay there. It's cold and they charge you a heating charge when you leave. They also charge you a dollar per day for each person staying there. If you... More

Just came back from a winter visit to Tuscany, staying in this castle. A really stunning experience, that exceeded my expectations! The location os perfect to explore the region and the rooms are great. Receptionist is very nice too, and gave me a lot of information about the surrounding area (by the way there is free wifi around the reception).... More

We have stayed at the wonderful "Castello di Montegufoni" on two occasions as one visit is definitely not enough. Set in the beautiful Val di Pesa this historic castle offers a unique Tuscan experience. Now owned by the Posarelli family, but once owned by the aristocratic Sitwell family (there is still much evidence of their ownership) it boasts the late... More

We stayed here in Sept 2011 and absolutely loved it! We stayed in Villa 4 which is not in the main castle but still rustic and just like you imagine a tuscan villa to be! The views are amazing, absolutely breathtaking. My daughter enjoyed a swim in the pool and we had a lovely meal in the restuarant one night.... More

I feel guilty for having waited so long to write this review. The review process would not allow me to choose anything prior to 2012. We were actually there in June, 2011. My husband and I were in Italy for over a month and a half and Castle Montegufoni was where we stayed the second two weeks. Once we got... More

We arrived at the castle with a few friends the third week of October and our first negative encounter was the bumpy potholed road and not a sign in sight to tell us we were close. Upon discovering we had no help with luggage we quickly decided to just bring in what we needed for three nites rather Than having... More

Amazing castle - perfect for sparking children's imaginations. The hidden corners, corridors, tower, stairs, grotto, ruins, and grounds, were great for exploring with our two daughters. Antiques including coats of armour dotted the castle, bringing history to life. My husband also stayed here as a child and it has always remained a special place for him. We travelled with grandma...
