Recently myself, my wife and 10 yr. old daughter, and two other families with teenagers had a change to stay at one of the most unique B&B's I have ever stayed in. From the moment we were lead to our room (The Captain's Room) on the second floor of the barn house we were in awe of the beautiful old... more

We stayed in the Beach House for three nights. Originally had made reservations for just two nights, but got to Fort Bragg early and even the ocean front hotels there seemed too generic and we were anxious to see Howard Creek Ranch, so we went a day early and were able to check into the Beach House. I had been... more

We stayed 2 nights at this country Bed and Breakfast and we like the place. The staff and owners were very helpful and our room was a decorated in a Victorian fashion. The main ranch house is old but well kep and there are new rooms finished with redwoods and they are very lovely. I can't say enough good about... more

I like funky, but the cost should be commensurate with the funk. On the good side- beach access. But - This place had a lot of stuff that didn't work and grounds that were a mine field. I'm sure the owners don't see it as such, but it is. They talk your ears off, but treat you unwelcome intruders at... more

My wife and I have often returned to Howard Creek Ranch because it such an interesting (and often educational) experience. Sally is a gracious hostess and Sunny has much fascinating to say about the world and the way it should be. The breakfasts are quite simply the best I've had--an incredible variety of tasty recipes which are always changing and... more

My husband and I stayed at Howard Creek Ranch during a trip to California earlier this month. A very helpful lady at the Fort Bragg Chamber of Commerce recommended this Bed and Breakfast lodging, and it looked to us like a great place to try. It was! The location is stunningly beautiful. A brief and lovely walk to the ocean... more

We adored this place. The breakfasts were awesome and we loved our seclusion in the meadow cabin. We loved Sally, the hostess. She made sure that we were able to find our cabin even though we arrived in the dark, by leaving a map to the meadow cabin and a flashlight. We felt like explorers! Sally was a very gracious... more

We will be talking about our stay in a beautiful, hand crafted room with a peek at the ocean and a comfortable, hand-made bed for a long time. The antique lamp, glass and simply fun stuff collection tastefully compliments the rich redwood, high gloss interior of the casually comfortable living spaces. The Ranch holds on to a rustic feel, not... more

We stayed at Howard Creek Ranch on the advice of friends who had been there on several occasions, and we were delighted by the charm of this bed and breakfast. Our hosts, Sonny and Sally and their employees were most accommodating, genuine, and friendly. Our only regret is that we had just one night and part of the following day... more

My partner and I drove the California coast this summer, and booked 2 nights at HCR as part of our route. We booked the Blue Balcony Room. The ranch is obviously as it says 'a work in progress', and is charming in a shabby way! Our room was small, nicely decorated and clean, except for some cobwebs in the bathroom... more

I'm sorry that your trip was made unpleasant by two minutes of misunderstanding. I did have the booking for three nights instead of two. We send out confirmations to avoid this type of miscommunication, but it was not a " big deal." I immediately adjusted the price. I am incapable of being " quite belligerent". I would cry first. 99.9...
